Ok news for me and completely OT :D

My brother (younger - he is 24) just got promoted - his manager was leaving so he went for his job and had to go through two interviews. He got the job and a £11,000 a year payrise!!! He's looking at coming out to visit me next year now because he will be able to afford it :D He's going to be in charge of two teams and he is totally made up about it :D

My mum took him and my other brother out to dinner to a) celebrate and B) to thank my other brother (21 next month) for helping her sort out the attic and she felt sorry for me because we missed out. She said she had put some money in my account as a surprise so I was expecting maybe £50 for a meal for me and Jeremy and for some wine we picked her up in Tombstone. I check my bank and she put in £150!!! I am soooo happy!! It will really help us get a few other bits and pieces for the house :D

Of course then I had a shower and got all weepy but mnleh :P

Hahaha - well there must be *something* to do there, surely?! Will you have time off work or will they be left to their own devices for the days? Will they be driving? If they will then they can go see those caves and drive down to Bisbee and see the mines and things. Maybe they can hop across to Mexico if they are so inclined :D

http://www.visittucson.org/

Send them this - maybe they can dig something out of it if you just let them know how hot it will be... I am sure they won't be that insane to go stomping off in 110f!! I know I wouldn't!! I have a bicycle now though and I haven't ridden in years!! That is going to be fun!!

Did you get the photos I sent yet? Did I even send them? I know I have them on my puter now... doh! I don't think I sent them yet! Lemme go do that now :D

Hehe - oh no - so you have to babysit them and let them deal with public transport!? AhhhH!!! Well hopefully that site will give them some ideas - I am sure in the day the mountain trails aren't too dangerous animal-wise are they? Or will they come out in the light as well? Eep! I know we are meant to get coyotes but I think I would be scared to go anywhere with so many creatures around!!

Oh! Did you read the thread with the person who doesn't know how to afford her husband moving over?! It's in this forum :o I'm like - hello?!?!?!

*sigh* Ok - this is getting annoying, every corner I turn I find that I need more and more info and I am tearing my hair out - the August filer thread for AOS is verrry slow so waiting there for info is tedious at best.

Thought I would try my chances here :D

- My NOA2 has expired - do I need to get a new one and if so, how?

- Is there a definitive page on the USCIS website for adjusting status from K-1? Cause I can't find it.

- And how many photos do you need to submit? Babbles is going through her paperwork too and wanted to know...

Gah! And the vaccination supplement I-693!

I don't think your NOA2 expiry is a problem. The expiry date only factors into the K1 visa application and US embassy interview aspect. No worries there!

And why am I having a problem inserting apostrophes? It brings up the quick find thing every time I key one.

Yeah the NOA2 expiry is definitely irrelevant to AOS, so that's good news.

Not sure about a USCIS website for AOS... sorry. I bet there's one out there but I am too lazy to go looking just now. I would suggest trying older (than August) filer threads, but I can tell you neither July nor June mentions that, so perhaps it'd be a waste of time.

We only submitted a handful of new photos. My camera had broken so we actually had very few new ones. I really think it's practically unimportant. :P

Got biometrics appointment letter yesterday and it's at 1pm on 09/09. I'm so glad it's the time it is. Means don't have to get up at some silly 'o' clock time for the 3 hour drive to Omaha. Decided to make a day trip out of it. Me, Nick, Brodey (brother in law) and Ellen (mother in law) all going. Going to go to World Market while I'm through there and get some Irn Bru and hobnobs. (anyone that really knows me from k1 knows about my hobnob addiction).

I took the chance and just sent DS3025 (or whatever it is?) for medical. If I get RFE...meh..no biggy...I'm here. Obviously I want EAD ASAP as I need to start making money but we figured a week or 2 delay is no a huge problem.

I know I'm going to get RFE for co-sponsors W2's...my bad...forgot to put them in envelope dispite going through package 6 times. I have them here in an addressed envelope ready to go.

Final update. My parents coming to visit Oct 11th for 10 days. Desperatlt need to find places to take them and things to do around here.

Yeah, I'm taking the chance on the vaccination thing too. There are reports on VJ of people getting approved without the I-693 so... we'll see.

World Market is super expensive, but I loved seeing all that stuff there. I couldn't believe the price of a 99p box of PG tips! I had no idea they sold Irn Bru. I love Irn Bru and Tizer. Anything made by Barr is good.

Debz, did you send off I-864 for Nick and the sponsor and an I-864A for the sponsor too?

Oh goody!! I know the expiry was an issue at some point in the process but couldn't remember if it was K-1 or AOS - at least that is one less thing to worry about :D

We only submitted a handful of new photos. My camera had broken so we actually had very few new ones. I really think it's practically unimportant. :P

I'm not sending any photos as evidence as they don't require it - it is just the passport ones they are after and I am not sure if we only need two or if we need two each for AOS/EAD/AP so six in total...

w00t Debz!! Great news that your parents are coming over to visit in October! I'm not going to see my mum until Easter :( BUT because my brother got his promotion, him and his GF are going to come out next year now as well so that should be cool! I'm not worried about what to do - more that if I have a job, am I going to be able to get time off!!

I think I am going to send the DS894378932 or whatever as well - I mentioned it to my mum and Jeremy and we all figured that for the sake of a potential RFE, we might as well wait and possibly be able to save some money - especially as it looks like I might not need the HPV vaccine after all as I had my medical before June 1 2008. Oh I am glad there are a few of us taking the chance on not sending the I-693... I think I am going to do the same :D Naughty me!!

I LOVE WM but it is sooo expensive - AND they don't have the patio furniture I liked anymore - that made me really sad :(

well - i got the I-693, it wasn't too much trouble, and i didn't want my GC to be delayed because of my decision to be lazy. i wasn't working at that time, and it was only 10dollars to get it, so it was no big deal.

@ aly: about the pictures and stuff: i'm gonna send you the cover letter for my AOS with a list of stuff that was in the package. no guarantee for trouble-free filing, but so far we heard nothing negative, the interview is wednesday

I think I want to leave out the I-693 purely because of the new TB regs and the HPV annoyance - if I can get through it without having all of that then it will likely save us over $200 - All I am reading about with getting the I-693 though is that most physicians are insisting that people take another medical!!! :o

Maybe it is a bit lazy ;) But I figure I can research it more once I have sent things off and if there are any problems, they will be easily rectified :) I *really* would love to avoid the HPV if I don't need to get it though as it is so expensive :(

The checklist would be cool :D I have one myself already but it is always good to compare :D

yeah, it was fairly easy to find a physician here in town that only charged 10 bucks for it, and i didn't have to do the HPV, so it was a nobrainer for me to just do it. but in your case-----i would take the risk, too :)

eric and i had a competition: he did the K1 without a RFE, so I had to do the AOS without RFE. well, we're just super-nerds.

@ babbles... sent I864 (again too many form numbers so might be wrong but you know the one I mean) for both Nick and my co-sponsor, didn't send I864A for either.

At this point I know I'm at least getting 1 RFE for w2's but hey, can't change it so what's the point in moaning for sake of 2weeks? I know this sounds strangly unstressed and calm for me but trust me. I'm boiling over with financial stress and other stress just now.

With regards to world market being expensive...I don't care. I don't have anything like it here. I have to drive 3hrs to Omaha for it so it's a treat for me to get anything from back home. Not had a hobnob since march!!! I've had mixed reports regarding the Irn bru issue. My dad's hand luggage in October is consisting of my flute and 6 packets of hobnobs. My mammy bringing an extra suitcase with more of my clothes that I couldn't bring back in March.
