Congrats Julez :D

Do you know if you get the green card before your second anniversary you have to remove conditions.... Do you still have to do that even if you get the green card after the two years? And do people often get their green card before the 2 year mark? Only cos I just found out that it's another $500 to do that

You know... I think now is the time for me to start visiting the AOS forums. I have stayed away till now as I didn't want to confuse myself :lol: But I keep getting little surprises, so I really think I should begin preparing.

The first 2 year GC is a conditional one and everyone who has that has to remove the conditions. I don´t think it has anything to do when you get it or anything about your anniversary. You should remove the conditions in the 90 day window prior to the 2nd anniversary of the issuance of the greencard, that is before it expires :)

Congratulations to the transfer Julez :) That´s great :D

As to when people view their stuff online it varies so much. Our EAD and AOS were online the day we did the biometrics but AP is still not online and therefore I don´t think it ever will :P Maybe it goes online when they touch it :)

thank you, Julez; I AM looking forward to meeting you :)

but I meant I was getting nervous about the packing... it seems everyone wants a piece of me right now, and while that's lovely on one level, it's panic-inducing on another

plus I had to say goodbye to my good friend at work :crying:

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Oh and I noticed that they also slack behind with the removal of conditions and sometimes people don´t get their next (10 year GC) in time before the first one expires and get it like 3-6 months later. Then technically it means that people have to apply for another EAD if they wanna continue working. But I´m not sure about that. But it makes sense cuz if your GC is expired it means you don´t have a work permit. But then the question is if you apply for another EAD if it actually gets to you soon enough. Or I dunno, just thinking loud here :P

Oh and it´s not funny if you forget to remove the conditions in the 90 day window cuz then they might start the process of removing you from USA or something so put it in the calendar :)

Poor STP has to give lotsa goodbyes now :( But we know she is strong and everything´s gonna be great :D And I am sure you will stay in touch with your friend and that you will see him or her again in future :)

Ah, thanks for that. I've got my biometrics on Thursday so I'm hoping I'll be able to see it after that.

Ok, now i'm REALLY confused.... :P

Don´t worry, it will all work out I´m sure :) I just read another post from a girl who has been waiting for over a year for the conditions to be removed. So what do you do when your old GC is expired and new one doesn´t wanna arrive for so long? I assume you need another work permit

Haha :) What´s so scary about it? If you found the other ones scary these ones will be even scarier for you cuz first they are much more thorough and second since they are so thorough the girl will be grabbing your hand and turning it and touching it all the time and pressing it on the screen. It´s not like you only touch the screen yourself like you are used to :P

it was the first time in my life i had to give fingerprints, and I really hated it. I just hate the thought of having my fingerprints or DNA or iris scan on a govt file. It creeps me out. :(

I know they already have my past addresses, jobs, medical info, but somehow biometric info seems more personal. I can change my name, I can move somewhere else, but my fingerprints will always be the same. Besides the only reason they would have my fingerprints in the UK or in Ireland is because I was convicted of something. Seems like being an immigrant you are treated the same way as a criminal by the US govt. :(

But I just noticed you are going for CR-1/IR-1 :) I don´t think you will have to go do any biometrics here. These ones are for those of us who are doing AOS now and with CR-1/IR-1 I don´t think you need to do AOS cuz you should get a 10 year GC in the mail a couple of weeks after POE and it should be all automatic :)
