hey all. Been thinking about the AOS stuff recently. Mainly panic about the finances again as Nick doesn't make enough to be my sponsor.

It's kinda like you realise the light at the end of the k-1 tunnel is just a huge freight train called AOS heading straight for you. I keep thinking that because Nick doesn't make enough that I'll be refused and sent back to Scotland.

Can you get a co-sponsor again? If you can I can't see it being a problem for you, you'll be fine.

Try not to worry. I've been hanging out in the AOS forum for a while now and loads of people have co-sponsors and have done just fine. I think that a lot of people who have one for the K1 also need one for AOS so there's a lot of people out there in the same boat. Start perusing some of the threads in there and you'll see what I mean, and it may help to put your mind at rest. Please try not to worry, there are a lot of us here who will do everything we can to help you. (F)

debz, they are NOT going to come after you and deport you for having a co-sponsor! everything else aside, if you read some of the hair-raising stories about people who have found that their partner was using them for a green card, sometimes there are still questions over whether the non-USC will be deported... if they don't get all of THOSE, they are most certainly not going to get YOU ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Ok, passport is back in my possesion! It took 9 hrs and $80, but it was so worth it. And I got to experience something new :D Marty thinks I am crazy for getting the coach, and worries that I don't understand the safety implications of travelling on an Intercity coach via Baltimore. Am I naive, or is he being a little dramatic? I know Baltimore is not a very safe city, but public transport is something I'm not really happy to give up.

You aren´t naive if you carry a gun in your pocket :P

Public transport in this country can be scary sometimes :crying: I am not sure I´d be allowed to take the bus on my own...

Yay for Lisa

I think he was probably being a little over dramatic... I mean you made it there and back in one piece! Obviously you have to be a little more careful but I can't see Baltimore being THAT much more dangerous than some parts of London...

The thing is that in London just about everybody uses public transport (well most people do)....compared to USA where everybody mostly drives their cars. Therefore whoever takes a long distance bus seems to be suspicious. I have seen some people waiting for a long distance buses and they seemed like normal people to me so I don´t know. Maybe it´s just some prejudice....I´m just saying what I was told. Some of our friends took a bus like that in the past and they said they were searched for guns and stuff. So I guess it might be common that people who travel by buses like that carry guns and/or drugs or something... So I guess just something to be aware of :)

Thanks for the cheers! Maybe I should be a little more cautious... Although with my driving skills, I am probably safer chancing the terrors that public transport may bring :o I am off to run errands now, but I'm doing everything possible to avoid getting in the car. I've driven by myself here before, but I am still nervous, especially as I need to find a new place today. Ah well, gotta be brave! See ya

ive taken the greyhound bus from florida to nyc a few times (i was poor and couldnt afford the flight)...some of the people can be a bit shady (ie: drunk old guy who puked in the back of the bus - - - the bus driver kicked him off in the middle of nowhere!!), but for the most part they just keep to themselves...you will definitely get an occassional stoner who didnt want to go through airport security with his weed stash, but that is the exception

oh, this isn't new... it's actually the community where I met Dave; I've known these guys for almost five years :)

just went to stay with another member and his girlfriend on the weekend... am talking about a visit from other, US-based, members, when I'm over there... these are my peeps ;)

I'm larking around on another forum I'm on :)

because I'm, y'know, not working for the next six months and all that :D

;)

Feels good doesn't it?? :D

yes, it BLOODY WELL DOES :D :D :D

man, I don't REMEMBER not feeling stressed, before this... I think I might break out the coconut rum :D

Oh that sounds blissful - how long have you got now?! I am soo excited... but Jeremy isn't up yet and I wanted to book the cheap flights we found  I will kill him if we lose them!!! GRR!!!

lol albanian.com is just not as wonderous as i hoped it would be...those albanians are HARSH...there are so many hotheads on that website that its not even fun to read most of the time...i really dont post too often, because i assume that i will be attacked for whatever i say...there are also many people on there who have animosity towards albanians who marry non-albanians (mostly due to the previous attempts at genocide in the balkan region), and obviously those are not the type of people that i need to surround myself with...there are some very nice people, but they are mostly overshadowed by the crappy (as with everything in this world), so ive been keeping my distance...in short, im a loyal vj addict :D

Hahaha - sounds like the OT forum

Now I know I'm normally a lurker in this particular thread, but I have a quick announcment for the Uk Thread Hijackers:

This thread is back, and the OP's not finished talking about his Special Delivery reccomendation. Can anyone think of any good hijacks?? StP, you must immediatley start MESSING WITH HIS LIFFFFEEEE!!!!!!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...40&start=40

I did my duty!! And StP was right - I did have to scrutinise carefully to see if she added anything to that quoted post

Hey hun :) I'm all for worrying (do a pretty good job of it myself) but you'll never enjoy life if you *always* worry :D Sit back and chill out a bit while you have the chance - before you know it you'll be back in the rat race again :D You *will* be fine - why would they refuse your co-sponsor when it is the same person they approved your K-1 with?!

Yay!! At least the fiasco is over now!!! :D

Jerlay, what site did you find your cheap flight on? I am booking mine on Friday (slack, I know....) and I have found a one way flight from Heathrow to Dulles for £246... Just wondering if you know of any cheaper?
