I sent the I130 form on July 12 and it was received on July 15 at Vermont. The money order was cashed towards the end of July. Since then, nothing. No receipt and no record of my application when I call the CS center...I don't know what to do. I have a copy of the cashed money order from the money order company but unfortunately we can't read anything from the back. We tried to make out the numbers but they don't work when we use them to check the status. I called the CS center and gave them my social, my name, my husband name and they can't find anything. Only the k1 that I file 3 years ago and that was denied....

Since they seem to have no records of your application in the computer system, I suggest you write them at the address where you sent the Form I130, provide all documentation you can (a photocopy of the original I130 form), a photocopy of the money order (the front is sufficient, as it shows to whom it was made), and anything else.... and ask for an update. Explain you have heard nothing and that the application is not in the system. This is not a perfect solution, but it is not a perfect system. Eventually someone will respond. A poor response, I know, but you need to document what you have done.

Another suggestion is to write your US Congressman. During my odyssey, I have had the help and intervention several times from an aide to my Congressman. She cannot expedite the application, but she is able to find answers to questions such as yours. However, you must wait for a response from your Congressman and execute a form that gives them a "limited power of attorney" to request and receive information about your case. This will also take some time, but time well spent.

The Congressional assistance is much more timely and helpful while the application is still in the USA than after it goes to a Consulate or Embassy in another country.

Good luck to you. Don't wait any longer. You have waited long enough. Keep us posted as to the responses and your progress.
