Guys,

Yesterday, in the morning, we got a call n it was from our interviewing officer. Luckily, we were both home.

He talked to my wife for a while and then , my wife told him if he wants to talk to me.

Then he talked to me for quite a while. He told me that i was passing through ur evidences and it has been fouth month since our AOS interview.

He told me that i was just checking on u ppl. n he asked about our life, n if we both live together.

I told him that i m here to live with her. asked pretty much same questions n stuffs, which he did in interview.

he told me that may be some times, he will call n check. I told him, no problem n told him the timing, we r normally at home during normal days.

then he talked to my wife again n she explained everything.

Finally, he told her that u will be hearing something in next few days.

He was nice this time and listened to our discussion good.

i felt happy, that it helped to avoid our appearance for second interview.

My wife told me that he looked satisfied to me this time n i hope, u will be approved in few days.

I told him that if there s something still needed from us, whcih can help u in our case, just let us know.

i m feeling a glimmer of hope now.

does it happen to ppl normally?

I've never heard of them calling people on regular basis, I don't know where you have this information from. I've never gotten any calls and I don't know anyone who had.

It must be a special case as the OP received "intent to deny" letter. I suppose these calls happen rarely, same as the second interview.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

I would be very careful about giving out detailed personal information on the phone - such as, when you are home and when you are not.

I hope you have caller-ID and were absolutely sure that this person was from the USCIS. It just concerns me that nobody has ever heard of this happening before and doesn't think it is a little strange. Was it the person that actually interviewed you that called?

If this is how they are conducting business then it is a good thing, it would save a lot of time and inconvenience to the petitioner. Just be 100% sure of who you are talking to on the phone.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

LMR,

it s not cuz my country s paksitan. As i asked the officer and we really talked in a very friendly environment. The reason, he told me was that i m wrapping up ur file and was going thru your evidences.

He said that it s not due to ur origion or something, but to check ur status of relationship, as law s to make sure, relationship s bona fide and couple s living together.

Girona40,

ur point of view also, make sense. However, i didn't give any particular information about us to him and he never asked about it. call was private on called ID. Bu, he introduced himself and then he was aksing questions according to papers, we sent.

He was talking friendly and looked like , he was looking if we live together. But, i did told him, timing of our sechedule, we present home or not.

man, u made me suspicious.

however, lets hope the best

This is actually one of the most sensible things I have seen the USCIS do. They ought to call a couple of times at 3:00 AM. All married couples ought to be at home together at 3 AM.

This really is a blessing Sufyan. The guy probably saved you a trip to some office for a second interview and he got the information that he needed to clear your case.
