Hi everybody,

maybe that is silly question: we had civil wedding after K-1 visa here in US and filled AOS(pending). We want to do religious wedding in my country this summer, so my family and friend can celebrate with us. We still have plenty of time, so I hope, I recive the green card by than, but want to fill for AP, in case. Do You think it is ok to explain the reson is our church wedding? or USIC may not like it and think we got civil marriage just in order to get the green card(to which is not true, we just want to make both my and my husband's family happy and share the moment with us, since my family wasnt able to come over).

But You never know with USIC, do You think I can be straight about that, I suposse I am not the only one who does the church wedding in ones home country..

I coundn't find any post about that; thank You for Your thoughts

A reason for filing AP is not needed in personal family based cases, you can just say to be able to return home to visit family.

You can even say to visit family and celebrate our marriage. USCIS makes no distinction if was a civil marriage or religious marriage.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Its no problem, as long as you were legally married here in the US.
