I-134 affidavit of support and Manila embassy

I have heard that the Manila Embassy will not accept your assets or a cosponsor as a way to make up for your income deficit. Does any one know if this is true? If there is anyone who has gotten their fiancée in the country with a cosponsor of with there accepts please let me know. I’ve gotten this information form an immigration attorney so I’m a little worried about it.

From much reading of the Posts on this site, Manila has a problem with "Co-Sponsors" in many cases they reject, and expect the petitioner to be the solo sponsor.

k. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT.

You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. Submit your petitioners most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner's ability to be financially responsible for you.

Nothing about a "Co-Sponsor"

Now, if the petition is for a CR-1 or IR-1 spousal visa, they do accept a Joint-Sponsor, because I-864 allows for Joint sponsors.

really? oh that gets us worried too, coz we are doing the co-sponsor thing on our fiance visa...can anybody try to tell us all of this???

I read from other posts here that they will most likely accept a co-sponsor if its a close relative (like your father etc..) but thats just what I read. I hope this is the case

there is a 50/50 chance of approval using a co-sponsor in USEM..I have asked few people about having a co-sponsor and mostly negative. we were planning before to have a co-sponsor but due to negative result we opted not to have a co-sponsor. the standing of my fiance's job wasn't good but I was still approved...

I would suggest getting a part time job a few months prior to interview if you are under the poverty level. I just barely clear it myself now. I will use a co-sponsor aswell since I just barely am over the minimum. (Technically I make enough, but I want to have any backup I can)

It sound like you haven't sent in your app yet. If your worried about it, maybe you should get a better job or 2 jobs so you make the minimum. It is something they will look at. You will have atleast 6 months before the interview to get your finances on track.
