Ugh, I know I'm really getting ahead of myself here, but it's frustrating, think a few months ago I could have expected NOA1 and check clearing this week, now it's maybe 2-3 months at least and that's just the beginning. :clock:

I am planning a visit with my husband for our anniversary June 21(will be spending about 3-4 weeks either before or after). We had originally hoped his interview would be around that time but looking at the timelines don't think it is in the cards and we shouldn't even plan on it. We are bound by time because I work for a college and can only travel during the summer or winter breaks.

What I am wondering now is barring any unusual delays, RFEs, etc. can we reasonably count on the interview being about a year from now? I know that once it goes to KTM embassy they schedule the interview very quickly. If it is in January or around Christmas time I could also be with my husband and this is what I am hoping. I will have to shell out more for airfares and have to split up my vacation time but I think it would make a real difference for us both to be there. Besides, I've been wanting to visit Nepal in the wintertime :)

After NOA2 the timelines are quite consistent.

However not enough people have bothered to do timelines for Nepal so cannot help you.

I know 3 successful Nepal filers on VJ and they all said once it got to KTM it moved very quickly - I think Putali's fiance got his interview within a week after receiving Packet 3. If it leaves NVC in October or so we might even wait to send Packet 3 a few weeks so we get a January interview - I have heard that is an option. They were all K-1 so I don't know if that makes any difference at the Consulate level. So I think the major logjam is with VSC/NVC.

Actually, 15 VJ members from Nepal have bothered to fill in their timelines... that's out of a grand total of 35 VJ members who identify Nepal as the country of the non-USC partner, or about 43%. Most, however, have gone the route of K1 or K3.

Many thanks to the Visajourney community for all the help!

If the Chicago lockbox really speeds up and we get a quick NOA1 then maybe we will go K-3, if we have to wait 2-3 months just for NOA1 we might as well just go for CR-1, the wait will end up being just as long and it will be much easier for us when he arrives because of no AOS. I am just hoping I can be there for his interview like we have planned.
