Your information is correct. The applicant cannot be reinvited until we are in receipt of the results. Once we have the results, we will invite him to return to the Consulate.

Subject: Thank you !!!!!

Thank you for your Response

I would like to take this oppertunity to thank you for your response Regarding my Husbands Visa Case

However In your email I did not get any clear answers to my questions....I know and have knowen that we are in Adminastrative processing I understand that is were we still are....My Questions have still gone unanswered and have left me in a state of confussion....The information that I recieve from the Washington DC National Visa Center is as Follows.......

Our case LGS xxxxxxxxxxx For Joshua xxxxxxxxxxxxx is in Adimastrative processing due to a pending security check.....this security check can take up to 3 to 4 months to complete ..Once this check is complete the results will be forwarded to the Lagos Embassey and at that time if the check comes back clean then he will be contacted and given instructions on when to come back to the Embassy to pick up his Visa.......

My question is this....Have I been given the right Information??? Is it a pending security check that we are waiting on??? Or is there more things involved???

Moon, I don't understand your confusion. He is undergoing security checks and when cleared will be notified.

There is no way they know how long it will take, even if they take a guess.

All you can do is wait.

Hopefully it will be over soon but there are people here who have waited a year and longer for checks. Some wait weeks, some months, some years.

Checks can occur at all levels, the USCIC before approval, at NVC and after the interview.

Don't drive yourself crazy.......there is absolutely nothing you can do to speed it up.

The FBI checks are very backlogged.

Pray and place it in God's hands and leave it there, His timing is best.

..When I call the National Visa Center in Washington I get different stories all the time....Saying all we are waiting for is a security check, At other times Im told it may not be just security checks, I was wanting to confirm with them in Lagos that all we were waiting on is a security check......Im thinking to its better that it is here in Washington then in Lagos where it would just be sitting on someones desk.....I feel like here there is a better chance of it getting done sooner......I understand all about the security checks and how long they can take....However when I get told different stories I dont know what to belive.....To add to that I also know some that have been told they are in security checks and through their congressmen and others came to find out that they had never been put in security checks.......So yes I am very confussed at times about what is going and why......Im sorry if my posting is a bother to some. Im only trying to get as much information and encourgement as I can.........

We know how frustrating it is to be waiting and not know what's going on or when you'll see something finalize. This is a very difficult process. You aren't bothering anyone. We don't always have much to add except, keep your chin up.

Often they wait for security checks and at the same time do other AP like document verification etc. simultaneously.

So it is entirely possible that aside from the security checks, document verification is taking place, also verification of his background that do not involve security.

Hang in there (F)

Maybe you are confused and don't realize that things such as security checks fall under the embassy verbage umbrella of Administrative

Processing ? AP is a catch all for many things. It means your case can undergo a wide variety of things from home checks to security checks.

Am I understanding you correctly that it is confusing you that you are in AP AND in security checks ? Again checks are part of AP.

A variety of checks are confidential, so they will generalize regarding what type of check he is undergoing and never be specific.

You have the option to ask for a congressional inquiry, however it will not hurry it along but MAY give you a more detailed answer if you ask for detailed answers from your representative.

I would not advice to do too many inquiries and save it for when you really need it. The CO will have to stop and answer the inquiry within a

certain time frame and that takes time away from what they are doing. So unless really needed I would not do it just yet.

Has he ever been to a Middle East country ? If yes, it will take a while.

Moon, I know you are so frustrated. At this point, I think you are going to have to just give it some more time. I know that is not what you want to hear or do, but it is your best option at this point. Keep focusing on your daily life here and stay positive. I know that is easy for me to say, but I promise you, THIS WILL END. PM me if you need to.
