Writing to congressmen

My husbad said he wants to start writing to congresmen too, and I told him that I have seen people post letter templates here. I want to give him a template so he has something to start with and then it is easier to write.

Does anyone have one? You guys who write to them all the time, maybe there are links or maybe smeone can post a letter they have written before!

Am not certain there is (or can be) a template since it would be a personal appeal for help.

I believe most will require a signed release-of-information authorization in order to look into your case - some/most representatives (and Senators) have this somewhere on their web site, or you can call their staff to get it.

Go to their website fill out the form as most have this already set up on their website and just present your facts plainly and preciously with dates. What will happen next, they will either email you or snail mail (hopefully) and ask you to fill out the release of information before proceeding. At that time, you can add any other information that you feel makes a case for your situation.

I went with Congress person personally. Give them a chance to get back to you tho, the release of information is usually generated very quickly, but for anything else, well that remains in the hands of your rep. What will happen if they are in the right frame of mind and are taking notice of this issue - then you will be assigned a case worker at some point.
