Congratulations on the interview date!!!

Advise? Not sure since we haven't gotten there yet. Just make sure she has all the docs she needs and is cool, calm and collected.

Good luck!!

Enkwana Deresah! Congratulation on the up coming interview. My hubby is from Addis and had his interview in July 07. Feel free to PM me (we could chat on the phone too if you like).

Our recommendations are:

1. Have your fiance STUDY the application you filed from her...everything from begining to end. Make sure she is confident and firm about the details, especially the G-325 form (the information on there can be very hard, foreign names and places etc.)

My hubby's interviewer asked him what city I lived in, he answered correctly. She said he was wrong. She asked him if he was sure and repeated the question. He responded that he didn't know what she wanted him to say, but he was sure I lived in Nashville.

2. Bring as many e-mails as possible.

I didn't think e-mails were as important as phone bills (with the number listed) and phone cards. I figured a few 5-6 would be fine, but my hubby insisted on printing every one. I'm glad he followed his intuition. When he tried to show the interviewer our phone records she said that the phone records (with the # dialed!) didn't mean anything and briefly read a few e-mails and asked random questions about my dad, my dog, etc. straight from the e-mails.

3. Practice with her on the phone.

Ask random questions from your forms. Also, do a search on VJ someone posted a list of potential interview questions we used those to practice...I think it might have been for a K3 interview but just change it for your needs.

4. Tell her to be confident and direct....

Occasional direct eye contact and be direct...don't say "eh, or "I think."

5. If she is capable of doing her interview in English, she should.

I've heard bad things about the translators there.

Take the interview seriously, the day my hubby interviewed he was the only one out of 6 who was approved. I'm not saying this to scare you, but rather to let you know that you have to do more than just have all the right papers.
