I know that we have to sign the DS-156k in front of the CO, but on the DS-156 do I sign that in front of the CO also or can we sign that at any time! Our interview is coming up this week any info on this would really great! I'm nervous about it all but now my SO might not be able to make it for the interview , his dad was rushed to hospital last night, he is not doing so good, so I HAVE to do this myself, and I know that I can but I am so worried about my SO he is really close to his dad and he NEEDS to be there, and I wouldn't expect any less from him! It's just making me more nervous is all because I want to be with him so bad at this time when he needs me the most, so I have to get this right all the way through so that I can get home to be by the family's side! I know what he is going through, I've been in his shoes! so any info would be so GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks a whole bunch in advance guys!!!!!

Azezohome is right. However, if there is any doubt you can always sign any of the forms in front of the CO. Unless its something that has to be notarized. Otherwise I dont see any harm in asking the CO during the interview. Good luck on a quick approval and with the outcome of your SO's dad's situation.
