My office has never officially closed for a snow day (though they will let us out early occasionally). If you don't come in due to snow, then you either have to make up the time, or work from home.

I can use my Earned Benefit Time. My company is very generouse if earned time off. I started with 3 weeks. It goes up 1 week each year until 5 weeks.

If I had something pressing on my desk, I would go in to the office. But I am in a new position that needs more work. I told my supervisor that last week in my review. I told him I could do my job in 20 hours.

I am sick of the snow already! We had the snowiest December on record, and nearly the most snow in November too. The plows are ###### so there has been ####### on the roads and pavements for weeks and weeks. It only ever looks pretty for a day when it is all white, but then it turns into these huge dirty great mounds of black packed snow which is not pretty at all. And this all stays around until April. We're in the 6-12 inches according to that map. I'd rather it be nowt cos we've already got plenty thanks very much! Can you tell I'm sick of the snow?

well I woke up and opened the blinds and there was snow! we got about 1.5" which is good for me and it's actually still there. the roads are really slick though and backing out of my driveway onto a hill could pose the problem of not being able to get up the hill.

Tell me about it. I had to go to Costco yesterday for a couple of things we were out of and by the time I got there - the entire place was stripped. As was the supermarket I went to afterwards.

Anyone would think there was going to be nuclear winter or something... I don't get it... given that it snows here every year you'd think people would be accustomed to it - enough at least that they take it in their stride without mindless hysteria.

Well, when it rained a lot last April (remember?), we were stranded at home for 4 days in a row. I'm glad we hoarded right before that storm. Sometimes, it comes in handy.

Why are the forecasters now calling the snow storms by "names" like they do hurricanes? For example, this "storm's" name was Christopher.
