Hmmm, I've never tried raw turnip. It doesn't sound too good!

I never liked cooked turnip but turnip was a staple at Thanksgiving and Christmas, so Mom always gave me mine raw. I Love raw turnip! It is nice and sweet without that bitterness that comes after cooking.

Other than cooked turnip, I virtually like and eat all vegetables. Joe, being from the South, is really big on all sorts of beans so I have learned many new ways to cook beans that I never knew existed. My favourite vegetables are asparagus, spinach and red peppers.

We grow asparagus, spinach, red and green sweet peppers, hot peppers (several varieties but lots of jalopenos), okra, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, yellow squash, eggplant, broccoli, brussel sprouts and a good variety of herbs every year. We freeze and preserve what we don't immediately eat so we have garden vegetables available year 'round.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Steven I own my own bakery/cafe now. I went to school in Pasadena though and worked in LA for awhile before I moved to London for a job.

Neil tried okra and said it tastes like alien pen*s

:o :o :o :o I think Neil might have been abducted by aliens...how else could he know this??? :o

Your own Bakery/cafe - that's AWESOME! May I ask where? Are you familiar with Art Center College in Pasadena?

That sounds like a dream to have, Kathryn! :D My father had a huge vegetable garden when I was growing up and I regret at the time, not fully appreciating it. I'd curse at the squash for it's prickly hairs while harvesting them, but I did love to eat the crookneck squash and zuchini probably the best. :) I hope when we have a house of our own, I can plant a small vegetable garden. :)

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
