I was eating coleslaw last night and thinking how much I love cabbage in almost any form.

What are your favorite and least favorite vegetables? :)

My favorite:

Cabbage (raw, steamed, pickled, any way I love, love, love it)

Broccoli (steamed, not crazy about it raw)

Spinach (raw or cooked)

Least Favorite:

Horseradish (yuk)

Onions (raw....I like them cooked though)

Iceberg Lettuce (tasteless piece of nonsense)

I love just about any roasted vegetable: asparagus, shallots, onions, green beans, broccoli, potatoes, beets....

I also don't like raw onions. I wish I liked tomatoes but they taste so mushy that I just can't eat them raw.

My wife doesn't like tomatoes for the same reason, but she'll eat ketchup and she's like pasta sauces made from tomato.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Me too...they taste so pasty and dry...yuk.

when I was little I would do everything to get out of eating them. so much that in culinary school we had to write a paper about a food memory in one of our classes and I wrote a 5 page paper about my hate of lima beans!

I've never put much thought into this but I love raw onions and boiled bittermelon.

Interesting. Aren't there some foods that the Hindus (not implying you are) don't use? Onions and garlic for example.

We're Hindu. We use onion and garlic in everything. Some Hindus and Jains don't use them but they are niche sects/cults like Hare Krishna.

Ah, ok. I love curry, but I have no idea what plant it comes from. Also, the yellow color and flavor of Indian rice - that is from Saffron, yes?

aaawww you guys havent had any good southern cooking, you'd end up loving lima beans and blackeyed peas if you had some of my grandma's dishes :)

the only veg I can think of right now that I DONT like is okra. and I am not a big fan of cooked celery but I will eat it if its in something, not worth picking out...

Steven that made me laugh about the coleslaw, I love it too. in fact when I was pregnant with my first child, coleslaw was one of the few things I craved. I used to go to KFC at least every other day and get a family sized coleslaw with a spork and eat it in the car. the people at the drive thru knew me and they would laugh when I pulled up!

Saffron, turmeric, and other things. I can't get into details because it is a closely guarded cultural secret and if I tell you they'll kill me.

Actually, I don't really know.

Yes, celery is disgusting.
