Sunday Roast

I make a Sunday roast dinner every single week and I'm starting to get bored of them. I cook for about 10 of us so all sorts of tastes must be met. Neil doesn't really like ham and no one in my family really likes lamb so it's getting boring having either beef, chicken, turkey, duck. Any other suggestions? I always make homemade yorkshires, roast taters, lots of veg, gravy.

We always have sunday dinner as well - but since I am USC with an Italian background, we alternate from traditional sunday lunch to sunday dinner with pasta and chicken/pork/sausage, etc. We usually have a beef stew on our UK weeks.

*sigh* I forgot to add that Neil doesn't like roast pork either. He is super picky!

oh thanks that's a good idea. my husband is super picky so it's hard to cook a meal that he will enjoy. we had pasta last night for dinner but maybe I can come up with another type. he says we eat pasta too much but normally it's once a month.

any other suggestions are appreciated!

I was going to suggest pork as well... Ours normally consists of pork, beef, chicken or lamb...

Roast parsnips, as a vegetable. I adore them.

something more gamey...ok it's not to everyones taste...venison or pheasant well loved around these parts (west Scotland countryside). Also don't know about it's availability over there. ooooo I'm gonna miss my haggis and game!

what about corned beef and cabbage? or a heavier soup like cream of potato? you could add bacon bits, etc. or vegetable beef soup? chili? i have a feeling i'm going to be in the same boat as you amber...k is quite picky as well...he likes beef and lamb (which i don't care for) and fried chicken, he will eat pork tho and has told me he doesn't care for ham either. neither of us is big on fish or like seafood. and when i tried making the yorkshire puddings i failed miserably! i made them from scratch and they ended up like hockey pucks! tried a mix while he was here over xmas and i still couldn't get them right. he's not so big on pasta or veg other than carrots and potatoes...and i love to cook! i think i'm in for a challenge...good luck!
