Well i'll suggest you go to the interview with enough evidence to proof your relationnship. Start with the list of items of your letter and be prepare to proof you didn't intend to stay when you came on tourist visa. Most IO don't even ask the question of "intent" no more, it never came up during my interview.

You'l be fine

I am adjusting from B2 tourism visa myself, although we are still waiting to be schedule for an interview.

You are likely to be treated just like every other couple. They mainly want to make sure that you are a legitimate couple so you want to bring the proof that they require (mingled finances, insurances together, photos, letters addressed to both of you etc.).

There is the risk that they ask you if you intended to get married when you entered the US. From what I read, it rarely, rarely happens. If so you have to be ready to explain (and maybe prove if you can) why you came here and when you decided to get married.

In our case I didn't intend to get married when I came back but I can't really prove this (beside the fact that I did nothing in France to get things changed and all), so I just plan to answer truthfully.

Just prepare the documents you need, most chances are it will go smoothly if you are prepared.

Good luck and don't stress about it.

People adjusting from tourist visas or VWP have successful interviews everyday. My husband came to the US on a tourist visa in 2002, overstayed his I-94 by 4.5 years, and since our interview occurred only 4 months after we married, we didn't have a ton of evidence, but apparently enough for the IO.

Bring all your original documents, your husband bank statements, letter from the bank, employment letter or pay stubs. photos. When she/ he ask you questions just tell the truth. Dont worry, very easy. I was on tourist visa too. I was approved.

the truth is, i quit my job in the phils and came here in the US, hoping to find a job. but since there was an already filled quota for H1B visa, i decided that i wanted to go home. but my boyfriend begged me to stay and marry him.

should i tell that to the IO?

i hope we'll be lucky just like you guys.. the only thing that worries me is proving my intent (or none for that matter) of staying here while on a tourist visa.. hopefully, my round trip ticket would be enough of an evidence

We didn't even know each other when he entered so intent wasn't really an issue ... good luck and I hope your ticket will be enough, but a lot of times round trip tickets are cheaper than one way, so it's a tough call.

Good luck!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I'll tell you what, try and concentrate more on gathering enough evidence that show proof of your marraige and relationship. that supercede your intent.

I will worry more on what evidence i've got. i can understand what you are going through because i went through it myself and almost got a heart attack thinking how to explain my intent but it never came up at our interview. the IO was pleased with our evidence and we got the card two weeks later. Not to say all the IO are thesame but i guess the most important thing is your entered the country legally and your marraige is real.

Everyone needs to be prepared to prove intent upon entry because if an IO suspects visa fraud, that's just as bad as marriage fraud =/ if you have it and aren't asked, that's not the same as not having it and being asked :x

I just adjusted from b-2. Approved and the issue that I was on a tourist visa was not even mentioned at all.

I was more than paranoid and I don't think my nerves have calmed yet from being so paranoid. However I can tell you I was WAY too overly nervous. Relax and be confident.
