The first time I filled out the I-864, I put my wife and daughter as dependents. Soon after I called the U.S. embassy. They told me that I didn't need to put my daughter, because she is already an American Citizen. I filled out a new form and excluded her (my daughter). I sent it in the next day feeling confident.

After mailing the letter, I found some more info online. This info was about the next steps in the process. I saw that at the interview the embassy will want another copy of my I-864. I thought okay no problem, just fill out the I-864 and DS-230 and I'm good. The problem is that on the DS-230 they want to know about any children and who will be traveling to the states with my wife. On number 19, they ask about the birth place of any children. Number 21A asks who will be traveling to the states with my wife. I am worried that since I didn't put my daughter on the first I-864 it could hurt my wife's chances of coming to the states. They could see that I do have another dependent, and that she is traveling to the U.S. the same time as my wife. On one form it will have her traveling alone and only having two members in our family. When they flip the page, the DS-230 will say we have a daughter and she is traveling to the U.S.

On the next I-864ez that the embassy wants, should I put my daughter? Will this be a problem if I didn't put her on the first I-864? I'm between a rock and a hard place, the lady at the embassy really screwed me, I'm thinking. Any info would help, i'm really frustrated and need to know what to do!! Thanks for your time and God bless!

DS-230 list child on line 19, however since the child is a US citizen they will not be "Immigrating" with mother, so do not need to be listed on 21a or 21b. They may be traveling with the immigrant but since they are a US citizen they are not immigrating.

Yes list child as a dependent on the I-864EZ.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
