ok now im confused!!!!

ok i thought i knew this whole thing inside out and all the terms but i think ..... i dont!!!.... we recievd a reciept.....is it the NOA1 or do we still have to wait for it??? becoz i was checking my case status it said.... recieved and pending!!??! someone explain plz...

another question plz...do i start estimating my timeline from the day they recieved it or the day i sent it to them??

i appreciate any help..... (God im soooooo thankful for this site!! i wd have lost it months ago if it wasnt for you guys)

well... i believe on USCIS when you check for your case update...that when it states "we have received your paperwork and your case is now pending"...that usually is the NOA1 (which means they have cashed your check and everything now it is just a while of being patient (i had to wait 5 months...but inshAllah yours will be shorter) and it varies from case to case whenever you check your case online...and the date changes...that means they have "touched" your paperwork...which could mean they are working on it or someone just moved it somewhere give it some time and you can call USCIS from time to time but usually until you receive the approval they will usually tell you to wait 6 months i know it is rough...but trust me you will get through it inshAllah!! i am praying for a speedy approval and visa for you and your loved one! take care and please feel free to ask any questions if needed! the VJ community is my second family as I am sure it will be for you everyone here is sweet and wonderful

If you block out the names and case number and scan it we can tell you what it means. Or you can call the uscis and ask them. Did you register online to be able to check your case?

The Noa1 is the receipt and says they cashed your check. Now u wait until they send u the NOA2 which is the aprroval or denial. Inshallah it will be the approval. They say it can take 6 months. Usually checking online is better than calling cuz usually on phone thay just tell you it is pending. Good Luck to you and I wish you a speedy process. Feel free to ask any questions.

...so i dont count from the day they recieved it??? i mean they said it reached them jan 9th.... and they sent me NOA1 on the 12th.....

i think they took all this time becoz we sent our papers to NVC which then sent it out to CSC....hmmm im still here for everyones opinion and explaination.
