That's just one of those things I don't particularly care for. Got the breakfast all ready to go and then the coffee maker wouldn't work. Damn thing is just dead. Worked fine yesterday and today, not a breath left in that darn thing. So, I had to brew my coffee the old fashioned way. That was actually nice 'cause it was very tasty. But I don't have the time to do the old fashioned coffee brewing during the week.

May your old one rest in peace and now time to shop for a new one. :P

I can sympathise cos I am a serious coffee drinker!! But what is brewing it the 'old fashioned way'? I have a percolator pot for emergencies, but other than that, I am clueless to what you mean!

The old fashioned way is to boil water in a kettle and manually pour into the coffee filter. Much like a coffee maker only that you have to do the work of dripping the hot water over the coffee. I guess I am a bit older.

Oh wow! Sounds like quite a chew!

Dont' think you're that much older, if at all...I just turned 32, but never heard of that before :hehe:

That's how I remember my parents brewing coffee back in the days before coffee makers became available and common. There were a few things that reached the dark side of the iron curtain late - coffee makers were apparently among those things. But you'd be surprised how much better the coffee tastes brewing it that old fashioned way as opposed to using a coffee maker. Not sure why but there's quite a difference.

And I am a bit older than that. ;)

You now, I never thought of it that way. The fact of the matter is that the one that gave up today is the one I bought just before hooking the job here in Cincinnati. Maybe it is a good sign... :D

Well, ET-US when ya move to FL you can invite me & David over for a nice old fashioned brewed cup o joe :)

Oh, and you and your lovely wife don't look older than me at all!

Oh, that's because Nani ain't older than you. Just me. But I seem to keep well...

If you're into coffee, you'd love Nani's traditional cup of coffee. She starts making coffee with green coffee beans that she roasts fresh. Takes a bit of time to make but that coffee seriously rocks!

Why would I go to Starbucks if I need coffee? All I have ever found at Starbucks is a coffee-like substance that seems to be made from burned (as opposed to roasted) coffee beans. Starbucks ain't for me.
