OMG-I was stunned at the abuse in that household!

The ABC message boards are FULL of people wanting to "lynch" those 2 parents ( the Nelsons)!

I hope that after ABC has made their " profits" out of the girls misery living with those 2 psychos-that they follow up and get everyone in there help...

Sorry if anyone else has already posted on this-It is still on my mind-the videotape of the " Dad" beating HIS daughter whilst calling her a " Dirty B##ch" and the step mother " egging " him on! :angry:

edit-Unless ABC follow up somehow with this poor girl and her sick family--they can count me out of their ratings counts! It was NOT entertainment-it was CHILD ABUSE :angry: ! Caught on film too!

6/19/2002- Met Online

11/10/2002- Met in person for the first time at Buffalo International Airport we spend a blissful but all too short week together.

2/23/03- David proposes on the beach in Melbourne Florida at sunrise during his second visit.

9/26/03- After much talk with USCIS we decide to go ahead and get married during David's third visit, with David planning on returning to Ireland the following week.

9/30/03- Phone USCIS to ask questions on filling out paper work and USCIS officer informs us that if David is already here he doesn't need to leave. After numerous calls to the Irish Embassy and two more calls to USCIS to confirm, we decide he will stay.

12/02/03- Petition for AOS recieved

10/8/04- EAD FINALLY arrives

11/10/2004- Our Son Colin Michael Kieran born two years to the minute after our first face to face meeting!

1/26/06- Recieved interview appointment letter.

3/09/06- AOS approved! David is a permanent resident with stamp in passport.

4/4/06- Green card arrives. We are now free to travel back to Ireland so David can see his family for the first time in more than two years.

i missed the show.. my mom had wanted me to watch since i am now a stepmom myself.. can someone explain more about what happened?

Basically ABC Primetime aired a show about step parents....Cameras were allowed into a couple of households for about a total of 1500 hours.....the object was to view the tapes with "experts" and hopefully offer insights and advice on effective step parenting...

So the show was advertised as anyway

The second couple were called the Nelsons. They had 3 kids of their own, and the older daughter from the husbands first marraige.

The step mother was a complete emotionally undeveloped freak who had obvious jealousy issues regarding the older daughter.

The huge "stink" is because on footage caught by the ABC cameras, the DAD leaps ontop of the 14 year old daughter, slaps her and proceeds to punch her 5 times whilst kneeling on her while she is sat on the sofa. While he did this, the step mother is sat in another chair throwing punches intop the air, smiling ( like a boxing coach does at the side of the ring).....

No idea why not :angry::huh: That's what the big stink is.....

Some people are wanting Dianne Sawyer's resignation because they feel that the object of the program was NOT to help stepfamilies, but purely for ratings, as there was NO televised interview of the mother and father being interviewed by the on board psychologists.

Of course ABC are out to do damage control now.

The "psychologists" they had viewing the tapes, can't really say much...I mean THEY didn't report it either. Even though most States ( including New York where the Nelsons live) have a law that comples anybody witnessing even suspected child abuse to report it!

Clearly THEY were remiss also. If they say anything other than what is stated in the above links-they are as culpable as ABC.

It wasn't just the beating...There was sooooooooooo much more...Nuts....
