I FINALLY GOT MY CASE NUMBER TODAY, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!! my papers were sent from the CSC to the NVC on January 3rd, today I called the NVC and they finally assigned me a number. My next question is how long is the NVC currently holding the documents? I've seen posts where it stays there JUST 2 days before it goes to the Consulate, I am praying this be the case because it would open up chances that our interview would be in February. Can anyone with recent experience or knowledge of recent past cases comment?

thanks

For K-1 visas its usually only a day or two. Sometimes petitions get held for AR or AP, and that can delay the petition being forwarded for a few days to months. But then it takes a week to a month to get the consulate/embassy.

Hi

Ours went from NVC to the US Embassy in Bogota on 12/12/07 and my wife's Packet #3 left the Embassy on the 17th of December...only 5 days. But, what happened after is a nightmare....she has not received Packet #3 in the mail and over 30 days have elapsed. We're getting stressed out about this situation. Others with similar timelines have already had their interviews and the spouses are on the way to the USA this month.

Best Wishes,

Craig
