In My Mothers Garden

In my Mother's Garden,

You'll find no flowers there.

No vines to wrap around you,

No thorns the pain to bear.

Soft words of encouragment,

A gentle guiding light

Blooming in the sunset,

A warm and welcoming sight.

Love blooms in my Mother's Garden,

Peace, tenderness and joy.

Her roses were understanding,

The violets her strength,

The lillies of the valley, her faith.

I stand in my Mother's Garden,

Hoping I will grow,

To be the kind of flower,

She would have wanted me to be.

I wait to hear her laughter,

Her face I wish to see.

Rest sweetly, My Dear Mother,

No more pain for you to bear.

You walk now in the Garden,

That none on earth can compare.

I love you Mom, and I will never forget you. Your strength and wisdom will guide me in your death as they did in your life. I hope that I can grow to be as good a mother, a friend, a warming heart to turn to, as you were. May God keep you in His Wisdom and Grace for eternity. You are home now Mom, rest there in Peace.
