hi..notice date was feb. 12. hey do u know the estimated time for cr1/ir1 petitions for spouses in the philippines? i thought i'd ask since i saw that u were filing for cr1/ir1. my hubby and i are trying to decide if we should go with the k3 or the cr1/ir1. thanks..

I am not an expert on this matter, but have been told that there is a "James Shortcut" that will shave time of the next step. I have read the Blog and am not sure of all the details. Hmmm...I am wondering where did you read that you can't follow the IR1/CR1 route because you got married in the US. We got married in the US and we are now waiting for our I-130 approval. Or else you guys can file for your I-129 and abandon the K3 is your I-130 is being approved first.

Note to K3 Applicants: This process also applies to K3 Visa applicants whom have had their I-130 approved prior to their I-129f. In this case you may chose to persue the I-130 path as opposed the the K3. This will allow the immigrating relative to enter as a permanent resident as opposed to having to file for adjustment once here. If the I-129f is later approved and forwarded to the embassy then you can write them to request the approved I-130 be acted on and the K-3 process abandoned.

im sorry that you didnt understand my post,. what i was trying to say was, we cant do the k3 process, only the cr1/ir1, becoz the marriage took place in the US..

we got an advice from 2 immigration lawyers, one is based in Minneapolis, MN, and one i met in other fil-am based forum,. and they said that, we cant do the k3, but thats according to the lawyers..we're not really sure.

and even though we are allowed with k3, wont do it also coz the AOS process and fees are just too much..

but i hope that someone can clarify this..

Not sure why the lawyers would say that. I was looking around and I don't remember anyone mentioned about this.

Yeah, CR1/IR1 seem to be a better choice.
