We went for my SO to take his driving test. The lady said that we were on a K-3 visa now since we had gotten married. He came here on K-1. I have never heard of it changing to a K-3 visa after you got married. ANYBODY KNOW ABOUT THIS????? Thanks, D

The DMV lady doesn't know what she is talking about. He came on a K-1, it doesn't magically turn into a K-3. Two completely different visas.

Sounds like the person isn't used to dealing with non-citizens. I walked into a DMV after moving state to change my license and they said "what's your ssn?", and I proceded to say "I don't have on because", they then cut me off and took pleasure in saying "well then there is nothing we can do for you". Lucky for me I know someone at the DMV and they sorted it out for me.

Did you get what you needed?
