We got the pink slip, I will fill you in on the details after I get some sleep.

Ok, I have some details, more will follow soon. her phone card ran out soon after she called me and so we will be chatting up all the detail details tonight. She did tell me something very odd. The CO asked her for her email address and password and actually opened up her email right there on the spot and searched around looking at our emails. So much for all the printed versions i sent to her. she said he did not even look at those or all the instant messages I printed out. He did quiz her about our engagement party and why only having 8 people attend. I asked her about the mystery irs 1722 form. He never mentioned it.

I will be back with a play by play Jepordy game show version after we chatt it all up tonight.

Thanks everybody!

Good luck to all of you!!!!

Han & Bruce

Wow. Going into someone's email is highly irregular and a serious breach of privacy. That is, quite frankly, disturbing.

I could not believe it when she told me that. What was this guy thinking. But what is Han going to tell them? (NO I have my rights?) Now I wonder if anybody has rights once they step into the consulate.

Only if they don't give you permission (which she did), but it certainly makes a lot more sense than them accepting printed out copies of E-Mails. If you were going to fake one part of the evidence, faking printed out E-Mails and Yahoo chats transcripts would be about the easiest part to fake don' t you think?

I don't think she had any choice. It's blackmail. Refuse and your ### gets the blue slip. The very least rude way would be for her to enter the password herself and be over his shoulder as he sees if there are emails there.

My fiancee and I rarely email each other. Almost everything we do is via Yahoo chat. so this may be a problem. :(

Well, now you know what you need to start doing. Remember, you can always change your password or even delete the account after the visa is issued. I guess you could look at it as rude, but in the same way that it's rude to make someone take their clothes off at the airport while you feel their goodies.

You can only blame the illegals for this stuff.

I always wondered if they accessed your email and listened in on phone calls, but always thought it would be a privacy issue bigtime. Did they actually go in and read certain emails, or did they just see if emails were in your inbox? I don't have a problem either way, because we have probably emailed each other about 200 times. I de feel that they are invading your privacy with this issue. I do agree with Dalegg, these are probably the easiest to fake, but I remember it stating that you can blackout personal information, so how can you do that if they are actually going into your email?

I'm thinking more about this and I'm starting to wonder what their angle is. I mean, once the illegal marriage agencies find out about this they'll just start having their clients open up Yahoo accounts and they'll flood them with E-Mails, making it look like a relationship is happening. But- maybe if the consulate sees an account with nothing but E-Mails from the petitioner they will get suspicious that it's not a real E-Mail account. So, now you've got to keep your other E-Mails in that account so they don't supect this, don't you?

"My interview was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. I showed up at the consulate at 7:30 a.m. thinking I would be early, but I wasn't called until 2:00 p.m."

I am apalled at what you all have to go through.

Seriously. That's is the MOST ridiculous invasion of privacy EVER. You can fake those, sure, but aren't there other ways to "prove" a relationship?

That's just sickening.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

I guess if we choose to submit email as documented relationship evidence, then we must be prepared to show the "original" should the consular officer choose to request to see it. It is intrusive. The only way I can see it. You do what you have to do.
