As far as I am aware it is just the visa which is $131. Apparently there is a photobooth that does US standard passport photos as well if you don't have the correct ones :) Not sure how much that is though

You need to pay $131 for the visa and you have to pay for the courier service to deliver it. This will cost at least £14 for the basic delivery between 8am and 6pm. It costs more if you want it delivered at a specific time of the day.

Aha!! Speaks the pro!! I didn't know about that - wow... I paid less to have my bridesmaid dresses shipped from Hong Kong *and* it only took three days!!

What do they mail back to you then? I thought they stamped your passport and you took it with you?

They keep your passport and once the visa is put in it a courier company delivers it to your address with the 'mysterious brown envelope'. In fact the couriers sent me a text message this afternoon to say they are delivering mine tomorrow between 8am and 6pm.

Tell me about it! I don't think it's really sunk in yet that I'm moving to the USA a week tomorrow. Aaaaaaaaargh!! :help:

We spend so much time waiting for NOA2 that you start to think that it will never really happen and when it does - WOW!! I need a large gin and tonic.

Well when you move I am going to set up a new thread in the "Moving here and your new life in America" forum for all us July vets :) It'll give us a more appropriate place to keep up to date as our journeys separate a little more - our AOS etc are all going to be so so different and we get on so well as a group!!

Will also be the place to plan our summer meet-up!! I'm hoping for August in vegas which is when I am planning to have our legal wedding - would be awesome for everyone to be there!!!

So what do you mean, at a specific time of day? Is it kind of general, or can you say 10:00AM pretty much exactly? Who delivers it? A regular courier, or someone who just specifically works for the embassy?

I was wondering if they let you go back to the embassy to pick it up, but something tells me I know the answer to that already ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

It's delivered by SMS who are a courier service. You can request that they deliver before certain times of the day, such as before 9am or before noon. The charges vary depending on the time you want.

Nope, courier delivery only I'm afraid.

Ok, next question... with his work schedule, Glen is unsure that he'd be available in person to receive the package. Can he go pick it up at an SMS office? Do they leave a card for him if he's not available?
