Nigeria Time from Interview to Visa

I am early k1 process and trying to rough out my years travel plans. Between my son wanting to go to college across the country and competing in various tournements I don't have too much spare time in the vacation hours I get from work. So my question is for people that have gone through Lagos. What is the average time between the interview and having a visa in hand . I am thinking I want to travel there for the interview. How long after that have most waited for your visa ? I would also like to go there and fly with him when he comes here which will hopefully also happen this year.

I have seen by most the visa taking anywhere from 3-7 days sometimes a lot longer. It took my husband only 6 days to get his visa. But nothing is for sure when it come to the Lagos Embassy. Good Luck!

ara is right. Most are issued within a week. I have heard of the occasional one taking 2-3 weeks, though.

It usually takes 2-5 days, from the time of approval. I have been to the Lagos Embassry and I tell you it's like lining up for a concert to see a musican that has the number one song out.

We had to go 2-days in a row due to the first time being on time instead of extra early.

So if I am lucky or normal ( not sure I am either ) I could go for a 10 day visit and arrive the day before the interview and maybe be able to fly home with an extra special memento of my trip

I am a real plan ahead kind of person . I filed for a K1 Thanksgiving weekend. So my trip will probably be Sept or so.

Hopefully it will go sooner than that. Ours took about 6 months from filing until his POE at JFK. Things were going quicker last year at this time, but I am thinking things will speed up,

It took 10 days for us, my husband even had to return because the Visa was not ready the day he went to pick it up.

Yes, I remember one month during the summer when several people had to keep returning for the Visas more than one time

thats what i plan to do go to days before stay till 7 days after tomake sure we come home together not leaving with out him this time

I was reading your plans Im going for interview even thou i am told i will hav rto sit and wait on him. BUt I am not getting hopes up until we know day he will get visa.. Nigeria you never know there plan, I also love to plan ahead. But i have learnt with this process anything goes.. Just sit back for ride.. Theres days you will rejoys days you will cry your heart out, days depressed becuz NVC screwed up.. its a ride believe me.. But whats great the end is wonderful then you look back and go WOW.. We made it.. But get ready for anything I would not by a ticket for him till visa in hand.. Never know of delay what the LADY if he gets her will have up here sleeve for day..
