Well, after losing a lot of time with backlogs in California processing our I-130 and our I-129f, it seems we have finally hit a little luck!

I sent my packet 3 to Montreal at the start of December... and well, I emailed them yesterday to make sure they recieved it and that we'd been placed on the waiting list for an interview...

And the response I got ?

Hi, Your appointment was scheduled for 8Feb08 @8:30. Please wait for your letter. thanks

:D

So hurray! Montreal finally delievers!!

Thanks to everyone who's helped us so far in giving us tips and also sharing in the difficulties of being separated from your spouse.

Interesting, I was just noticing that you both submitted your applications in April of 2007, for K visas and have interviews in February.

We submitted our I-130 in March of 2007 and my Husband has his interview in February as well (for IR1).

So maybe that goes a little way towards answering which one is faster? Seems they all run at about the same rate.

congrats!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My NOA1 was June 2nd. If I had been waiting since April I'd have gray hair by now :blush: (I went through Vancouver and CSC)...we also requested our date be after Feb 10th
