How do I know what my immigration status is?

On the I-751 cover letter I notice it says K-1 and K-2. I am married to a US Citizen. The category on my resident card is CF1 my daughters is CF2. Is this the same thing as K-1, K-2?

Your immigrations status is CF-1 and CF-2. K-1/K-2 is status before AOS.

CF = Conditional Fiance(e) because you entered the USA as a Fiancee.

Are you talking about the example cover letter at visajourney (http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Cover_Letter_for_I-751.doc )?

I personally wouldn't even put this there... USCIS knows I came here on K1 - I have included my A# in bold in the cover letter which is a way stronger reference for USCIS to combine my files!

Don't just use the examples here on VJ, they are sometimes outdated and it is way better to make your own fitting your own needs - but that is just my personal opinion.

That is a little confusing because we got married outside of the US, and entered as K-3 and K-4. So why would they give us CF1 & CF2 status?
Just has to do with the fact that you adjusted status from a K-Visa, rather than entering country on an immigrant CR-1 visa, The K-3 and K-4 are hybrid visas and in a way they were afterthoughts to address the big difference in processing of the K-1/2 visas and CR-1/IR-1 visas.

I would not stress over how USCIS classifies a persons status.
