Referring to the I-751 application instructions, Number 5 talks about having at least 2 people do affidavits. Couple of questions:

1. Is there format someone could post on how the Affidavit should look?

2. The last line of number 5 reads "Affidavits must be supported by other types of evidence listed above.". I am not sure what this means.

Thanks,

Look at the example forms,

1) http://www.visajourney.com/examples/I-751_support.doc

2) this means you cannot just send the affidavits alone, you need to include other evidence of a bona fide marital relationship.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

1. There is a sample affidavit in the pinned thread. There is ostensibly a "sample" in the VJ guidelines, but it is a letter, not an affidavit, and should not be used because the instructions ask for affidavits, not letters.

2. This has been the subject of some debate. Frequently, affidavits have exhibits attached to them, e.g., documents or other materials referred to in the affidavit. I've always thought this is what the instructions mean, although my mind has always strained for an example of what evidence a friend or relative would attach to the affidavit. Others have said they believe the instructions are only saying that you cannot send in the affidavits as your only evidence, i.e., that you must send in the other evidence listed in the instructions to "support" the affidavits.

Meh

The instructions ask for affidavits.

That is not an affidavit.

It is an error in the VJ guide.

Meh
