I am experiencing the same thing... Is this the right AP? I got an email earlier, saying as below

Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent

On March 4, 2008, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, call US +1 8003755283 Call to update your address.

What should I do????

Hey everyone,

I think I just received my advance parole paperwork, but it is not what I was expecting.

I have two identical pages, with form number I-512L. Is this the right advance parole document? I was expecting 3 identical pages (that's what I've seen other people say they get).

If these are the right papers, how do I use them?

In a few days you will receive an RFE (Request for Evidence) in the mail. Your application for your Advance Parole document will be on hold until you respond to the RFE by sending USCIS the additional information they are requesting.

So I am confused if two 512Ls I recieve are AP or not?

So I am confused if two 512Ls I recieve are AP or not?

It is, however, you may still need to respond to the RFE. I think its possible they may make your AP invalid if you don't.

Quick update: I recd my EAD card in the mail today. less than a week from production date which is awesome.

but how come it's only valid for one year? what if you're in the middle of a job, do you apply for extension?

EAD cards are only valid for a year. You'd most likely receive your Green Card before your EAD expires, and that will override the EAD. If you have not received the GC, you then must apply for a renewal EAD. The NOA1 for a renewal helps meet the requirements for the I-9 should you need to complete one again.

Today I got an email from CRIS saying my EAD had been approved (that's just 55 days, alot quicker than I originally expected).

My AP was approved on 03/11/08, but I've still not got the approval notice in the mail yet, or the AP itself.

what a waste of resources, paperwork and tax dollars. I mean to issue a card with electronic fingerprints, signature, picture to be thrown away in one year. not valid for ANYTHING except to show once at the social security office.

Uh... ok

Tax dollars are not used as the USCIS is not funded from a federal level. It's running costs are met from the filing fees. The card is proof of your work status. Until you have your green card, it is this card which you will need to show an employer to prove you're authorized to work.

Got my EAD in the mail today! The email I had from CRIS said they mailed the approval notice on 18th, but the card was actually approved and created on 03/11, which 48 days from filing. Now I just need to find a job, and now I'm off to apply for my DL.

My wife and stepdaughter's EAD came yesterday! :dance: Filed for AOS / EAD on January 15th. Snail mail is my only means of communication with USCIS since the case numbers don't show up on their website. :angry:
