Speaking of color Krikit.. here's our main color we picked for our apartment - it was a hideous teal green/blue color.. nasty and terribly unsettling.. we painted 2 of the 3 bedrooms in our place this nice calm beige color.. we LOVE it.. might be an idea for you!! :) I can get the color number for you if you like!! :)

2 rooms are pictured here, note the curtains..

We painted our kitchen a similar brown--Pecan Sandie I think it was called! Liked it so much, ended up painting our two bathroom vanities the same color!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Oh, that is a gorgeous colour, E! Yes, please get me the color number. Thank God you painted it the beige and not the blue. I was like.... "Please tell me that's not the colour she's painting it to." (Now watch somebody wander in and say "MY room's that colour blue and I love it.") Doh.

LOOOOOVE the windows and the hardwood.

LOL.. that is halarious!!! Our landlord is from Equador.. someone told us (perhaps the realitor) that the bold color was to ward off "negative vibes" or something.. Nope we wrote it into our lease that we could paint the walls.. :)

I will look her up when i get home, neither hubby or I can remember the color.. :)

I LOVE our place, old victorian home, and our landlord is a carpenter so the wood is all restored and beautiful.. he did an excellent job of keeping all the charm and charector of the place!!

This thread will be great for me! We moved in the summer and I really haven't done much decorating yet.

I guess I could post some pics of the decorating in the new clinic!

I'm like that too. We moved into our new house a year ago, but with all the immigration stuff and my Mom being sick..... and and and..... I just haven't gotten to some serious decorating as yet. Which is why I'm so excited about this thread. I'm hoping to pick up some decorating ideas from everyone. My current speedbump is colour. I want to paint the walls (it's just builder's white right now) but I can't decide on a colour. I have a vague idea of what I want, but then I think.... "What if I don't like it?"

Yes, post some pics of the clinic! Or tell us what you THINK you're going to do. Because that's probably all I'm going to do too. Until I actually do something.

Our walls are an off white...builder's colour too. Now, I'm not afraid of *some* colour, but I ain't about to go all wild and crazy with it. I'm a more subdued, muted colour person. Problem is, I'm not sure what that colour (or colours) is. I mean, paint is the cheapest decorating there is. So I'm rather glad about this thread as well. Keep them ideas coming!

Behr paints...those are the ones that Joan Steffend uses on her show "Decorating Cents". Now that's a show I'd love to have at my house! I'd gladly give $500 for them to do our bedroom. I just love watching HGTV. :D

I normally only use Behr! And consumer reports normally has them scored very high for interior paints
