Purchase your tickets directly on the airline's website. My husband has been using www.evaair.com for the past 3 years. I have looked at hot e-fare section and so far the lowest price I could find for my daughter and me totals to $978.60 one way trip to Los Angeles with one-hour stop at Taipei. I have looked at PAL and it will cost us $1,278.80 to fly direct to LA, no stops.

I don't think that's cheap..

Agencies tend to be more cheaper..

The price I posted are for 2 persons(me and my daughter)so its cheaper. I have asked my former co-workers about it and they are more expensive. I used to work in a travel agency.

What prices do you guys consider cheap tickets? I purchased from a local travel agent here in Cebu. It costs around $800+ (with k-1 discount already). I'm flying thru Cathay Pacific one-way to SFO for this month. But I paid for the ticket already since last december since the agency told us they will have fee increase this year.

Who would you choose to book the flight from the philippines to USA?

Well first congratulations on your approval. I have flown numeorus routes to and from the Phils. Cheapest and not too bad fro comfort is Philippines Airlines (PAL). They have a website. Get to Manila and then you can go via LAX, SF or Las Vegas.

I don't know if you are going to go get your fiance and fly with her,,,, but if you don't and have any issues about her entering the USA alone you can fly American Airlines to Vancouver. PAL flies Manila Las Vegas via a stop over in Vancouver to drop some passengers and pick up others.. Then 2.5 hours and you are in Vegas. Did that route and it is pretty good.

I just visited my fiancee in Novemeber and flew PAL. I flew business class round trip from LAX via Manila for 2400. I check for one way and you can get an Economy Manila to any of the three USA ports for less than $1000.

Other more expensive options: Northwest, Cathay Pacific but both are more expensive. Just please be aware, PAL wants proof of the credit card that purchased the ticket when your fiancee picks the ticket up so you may have to research. I was just given a few names and numbers in the Altanta area of travel brokers for the Phils. Let me know if you want these contacts.

Take care,

SHawn

I favor Cathay Pacific. Claudeth flew out of Cebu to Hong Kong and then LAX. She bought the ticket there and saved us about $150 from what I could get it for.

I think it needs to be understood that Im not looking for a boat to bring her here  its just the end result is to get her here. Planes are planes, maybe I feel this way because I have traveled a great deal all my life globally. There are many ways to get here, many to choose from, and all will pretty much take a long time...I just want to take the shortest route/and get a good deal if I can. So far Vayama is looking good.
