When buying online, thats pretty much al lyou get is an eletronic ticket! Just print it off and your set. Actually, in most cases you do not even have to do that. Just show ID at the ticket counter and your good to go

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I fly over 150k miles a year, and only use e-tickets.

If you have paper tickets and they get lost, you are totally screwed.

Absolutely correct!! One time connecting in Sao Paulo the lady forgot to give me back my tcket flying from DFW to Abq (at least that was the last place I had my paper tickets) and I had a hell of a hassle to get my connecting flights in order- had to pay a hundred US dollars more and stress way overlimit, but better than walking home. Paper tickets make me very nervous.

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

I've been using e-tickets exclusively for flying for maybe 5 years now . . . business traveler mostly and they never have time to get you tickets. I print out the boarding pass before I leave for the airport or use the kiosk to check it. Really with the computer systems the way they are now, it is so easy. Just showing the check-in ppl (on international flights) your ID seems to be all they want most of the time.

I've uses e-tickets to fly international several times and only had problems one time . . . when my travel companion got me on to a flight that I wasn't originally booked on . . . the ppl in Frankfurt seemed to get quite snippy and asked for my ticket, LOL! I said that the itinerary is all they give you now . . . and they should know that . . it is the airline that is doing it, so their ticketing/checkin agents should know all this, LOL.

E-tickets are fine. Just Keep the receipt with you (print it out).

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I haven't used a paper ticket in probably 8 years or so now. You do usually have the option of the on-line booking to have them send you one, but I've never bothered with that, I just print the receipt and itinerary and off I go.

Charlotte airport used to give me a hassle a few years ago, but they seem to have moved into the 21st century now :P

Heck, if you can get to the self-check in kiosk, you don't even need to talk to people anymore if you don't have luggage to check! I used to love that, before the carry-on rules got more strict after 9/11. I could just check in with the machine, print my boarding pass and roll on thru security.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

I like e-tickets you dont have to worry about loosing them and waiting for them in the mail. My experience is that they are eaiser to change if need be! I buy all my tickets like that just be careful that you dont use a site that is a scam. Stick to the well known popular sites like Expedia, Cheap tickets, ect.
