Hello All,

Stupid question but I need to know...

Does anyone out there in VJ land have experience using E-Tickets (Electric Tickets). I found a flight for my fiancee but it is a e-ticket...I have never used one and i was wondering just how reliable the E-tickets are....the price is right and her POE (Chicago) would be 22 hours closer to me then all others (LAX) I have found.

If anyone has an opinion on this please let me know....

Thanks and God Bless...

What do you mean by E-tickets exactly? Do you mean buying online? or the type where you dont get an actual ticket just a peice of paper to show them? For me I have did both I went priceline.com once and it was a night mare they dont reassure you anything. But I did the paper ticket that you show them and I was fine no problems. Hope this helps you some.

I bought an E-ticket for both my trips from Colorado to Egypt and back (3 flights both ways with Expedia) and they were great, no hassles whatsover, and I was expecting them! I was really nervous about them at the Cairo and Frankfurt airports but it was not an issue at all, I had 2 printouts of my ticket and really I never needed them, just gave my name and everything was fine.

Good luck!

HI! E-Tickets are totally fine. I have bought tickets to the philippines and have just printed out the itenerary and the receipt. the website where you bought the tickets from should have a form of receipt or itenerary which includes the payment amount as well as the name of the passenger. From manila international airport, she just has to go in and have her bags checked, make sure that she goes to the airline ticket counter and present the printed page to the person behind the airline ticket counter. They may ask for an ID or some form of identification. Her passport should be sufficient. Afterwhich they will provide her with an actual ticket that she can use as well as a boarding pass to the flight and the transit flights (changing planes, if she needs to, unless it is a direct flight) to the place of destination. Just make sure she prints about two or three copies to be on the safer side.

I hope this helps. GOODLUCK and Congratulations!!!

:)

PS... wishful thinking moment ... i wish we'd be on the same boat soon.

E-tickets seem like the way to go although I was told by an immigration officer that e-tickets are not acceptable if u dont have any other proof that you are going back to your home country.

I prefer e-tickets myself, they're cheaper in my experience. You just print your itenerary and show it at the check in with your ID and they print out your boarding tickets for you. Easy as pie. Ive been pretty pleased with buying my international tickets from orbitz.

I always use e-tickets and for the most part haven't had problems. A few words of advice - get to the airport early (one reason for a travel problem I had) and make sure if you have connecting flights they are with the same airline or you have plenty of time to get to the next carrier (another reason for a problem). By the way, what part of Iowa are you from? I just recently left and surprisingly miss it!

We book our flights on line and use etickets. London >>> Los Angeles >>> London. Check in on line has worked like a dream for us too especially if you have no luggage to check in.

Good luck.

Nothing wrong with E-Tickets. I am going to the Philippines in june on one. Now that everything is computerized there are no need for paper tickets. WHen you check in at your first departure they will give you bording passes for all your stops. Nothing to it.

E tickets are reliable. she just needs to present passport and the security document.

there should be one either on the airlines website * you need the conformation code *

or check your e mail for the security document. you can not generate this until 24 hours prior

to departure. one last thing. some airlines are now offering boarding passes cuts the waiting in line for a pass. you also can get this 24 hours prior to departure.
