Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

as well I noticed on 411.ca that the 780-488-2232 # also has the 204 area code 204 488 2232

This is off topic. But I remember I had to call Dr. Seidens office in Toronto to go pick up my medical report and I couldn't remember his name or number for the LIFE of me.

So I used google earth to pinpoint where his office was and then googled the address that showed up on google Earth.

It's probably one of the silliest things I have ever done.

Ok...the # you gave me was correct. I was dialing a 1 before the area code because I assumed that was what I had to do being that I'm in the states and it is a long distance call.

Geez...

U should move to Saskatchewan, if ur calling within the city, you dont even add the area code,lol

My fiance called, and apparently the doctor will be gone the entire month of February? He will have to wait until march for the medical if he wants it done in edmonton. We are now checking into Calgary. Bigger expense, but we want the medical out of the way.

Glad everything is coming together for you all. :)

Only problem of having the medical on the same day is that if something is wrong, probably not enough time to correct it!! Mind you the medical is very very basic! And Calgary isnt that far!! Always a good time for a road trip

Stacey...they were so so so so nice and sweet to me when i went for my medical. She told me that I was the most organized person she has every seen. LOL sorry you had a bad experience. Lets just hope he checked off all the right boxes on my forms :P unlike yours
