That seems odd to me that Casa kept your passport.

People always ask how long is AP and no one can answer that. If you look at the cheerleading thread and look at interview dates vs. visa in hand dates you will see some were issued within weeks and others waited months. My husband interviewed Nov 16th 06 and was in AP about 10 weeks while others who interviewed after him were getting theres in about 2 weeks. So all you can do is wait it out.

Lawyer can't help you at this point.

Two months is NOT that long. Ask those who waited nearly a year!

And if your fiance is getting upset about waiting for AP, what is he going to do while waiting for AOS, which can be a whole lot longer than AP! You are in for a mess.

When you apply for your green card

AOS = Adjustment of Status. As Maggie says, this is what you do to get your green card -- it's the next step with immigration after you get your K visa and arrive in the U.S. and get married. After all that, you and your wife will need to file for AOS to "adjust your status" to get your green card -- for conditional permanent resident.

Thank you very much,

let me tell you, my fiance and me are muslims, so thats mean this AP is taking long time for security checkes, and this AP is about me and my fiance, right? plz any idea?

yeah, just ask my husband about the wait on his green card...3 years now. he should be filing for citizenship now but cant for at least 3 more years...thats if the green card would come soon.

Everyone is trying to tell you that each case is different. It doesn't matter if you are both muslim or not. There is no way to know how long the wait will be. Somestimes people say a person's name, if very common, takes longer. My husband had his visa in hand 1 week after his interview but that doesn't happen all the time. The wait is one day to months and months. Good Luck on your journey.
