Hey everybody,

I wanted to give everyone an update on my trip. I arrived in Oran about 2 days after I left the USA ( transit through CDG and ORLY) My flights were pretty good but my flight from Orly to Oran was 10 hours delayed which left me and Zahra wandering around Orly with nothing but 5 dollar pepsis to drink. I went to the chanel counter at duty free and ending up meeting a really nice Chanel worker who was Algerian and she gave me all these awesome samples to take to everyone in Algeria. I had a cool idea before this trip and bought hundreds of perfume samples and little bottles of perfume and gave them out to everyone along with all the chanel samples ( they were an absolute hit)

In Oran, I stayed at the Sheraton for 5 days and day 3 through 5 we were in the diplomatic suite because none of the hot water would turn off in our rooms for hours due to a mechanical failure. The rest of the trip, I stayed at my husbands apartment and we also got to see 2 other hotels for short stays.

The highlight of my trip is that I got to have dinner with a very famous Algerian band called RAINA RAI ( most moroccans know Lofti Attar and Larbi from this band. Their hit song is YA ZINA

It was an amazing concert and I got to meet also Larbi from Orchestra de Barbes...

Ya zina diri la tay ( hey beautiful pour the tea)

The country was on high alert as you know that there was a huge bombing December 11th that blew up the UN in Algiers.. I actually was happy to leave Oran and go out into the country visiting TLEMCEN and MAKHLA and going to BOUSFER and out into the country side and seeing all the little villiages. I did not see a single westerner , European or American the entire time I was there... the mood was a little somber but I had a great time, visiting the tomb of holy man SIDI BOUMEDIENNE. I got to see rai stars walking around in the streets ( rai the rock and roll of North Africa)

It was an adventure like Algeria always is and I had a great time with my husband.

When I got back, I found out my fee bills for AOS and for I864 arrived to my attorney and he had already sent them out. When I was in Algeria, I got my husband's new passport copy and his police report and army card so I think that when the NVC sends him the affadavit and instruction package, my attorney will send in the I864 and the DS230 and then he already has everything for packet 3 and 4 in hand because Algeria is an appointment consulate.

Anyway,

I had a really good trip and it was lots of fun to be in North Africa although Paris is miserable and expensive as hell ( 10 dollars for a coke in the hotel), miserable euro exchange rates. Its nice to be home but I miss my husband.

My daughter had an accident in Algeria ( bumped her head) and had to have 3 stitches there. There they stitch with NO LIDOCAINE or pain killer and the stitches were HUGE and not disolvable. We take alot for granted with our health care here versus Algeria. The clinic I went to was private and supposedly better. The people were nice but if you have a sick child who is bleeding and they have nothing to stop the pain before they start stitching, its pretty scary...She had her stitches out Jan 1st////

Hence..

MY TRIP TO ALGERIA

Welcome back, Wahrania. I'm glad you are home safe and that you had a great time.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

We stayed at Medy's parents house (you actually drive past the Sheraton to get to their house), but we went a few times to use the pool

They have 2 really neat pools, the one inside and then the one outside. It was butt cold this december and a few of the days we were directly on front mer and it was so cold .. I cannot even begin to describe it. I want this immigration ####### over with. My lawyer sent in the fee bills so now we are waiting on the I864 packet and the ds230 packet but my lawyer has everything now and since we have paid both bills now, we should be able to send the rest of the things in as soon as they generate the packages. I just want this over with. I want to go on with my life as normal, recover from all these massive airfaire bills and get him here so we can start our lives. This has just gone on too long now
