How do I find someone in Brazil?

Hi Everyone,

I lost contact with a childhood friend in 2000-2001. We used to go to private school together and she had to go back to Brazil. I tried mailing a letter to her parents house recentally in Manaus but the letter was returned today as they are no longer at that address after years if living there. I know after her college graduation she mentioned she might be moving to San Paulo. Is there a way to locate her in Brazil like we have the directory here in the US?

Thank you,

Olivia (F)

I'll have to look through the letter again to find out which school she graduated from. I know she was going for a law degree. How big is Manaus? Is it small enough that I gave a name someone might recognize it?

Do they have something like classmates.com in Brazil?

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

You may also try searching some of the "networking" type sites that are international, like Facebook or Hi5. You can search by full name, of you have a nickname....who knows you may get lucky and locate her on the "net". :)

Good luck,

no. orkut is a good site to find people. I've found lots of people I went to college and school, etc there.

Also if she can find out the college her friend went, would make it easier.

I think I found her in San Paulo using the telefonica site and pressing the legal button.

ANYA VENTURIN DA SILVA R CANECA,FREI, 1100 - AP 607

(011) 3285-3255 S PAULO - CERQUEIRA CESAR

I am unsure if it is her for certain because her last name is Venturim and there was no Da Silva or "of the hisses" before? Maybe she got married?

Should I try to mail the letter to that address? If so how should I write the address?

Like this? Isn't there some sort of zip code I am missing?

Anya Venturin Da Silva

R CANECA, FREI

1100 - AP 607

S Paulo - Cerqueira Cesar

BRAZIL

I would call her but I don't speak Portuguese and if it wasn't her then it would be a funny call for the lady. lol. But is the only Anya Venturim I found and in her last letter in 2001 she said she would move to San Paulo now that she graduated in law. I am still looking for some sign in the pictures of what college she went to. She sent me her graduation class pictures. lol

I don't know about Brazil, but lots of countries don't use "zip codes" or an equivalent.

I'd try calling her! If it's not her, then it will be a funny call for someone and she will giggle about it. I think if you wrote a letter and it wasn't her, it'd be a lot more creepy.
