Things are going OK here. It has been 4 1/2 months since we arrived in the US and about 2 since we moved to our own apartment in CA. I've been working for a month, but Okan has been struggling to find work. It has been incredibly difficult and frustrating, but we're both trying to stay positive. They say that the unemployment rate here in the Bay Area is 10% or more, so jobs are not easy to find.

The silver lining is... I passed his resume on to my HR department and there's a temporary IT position that might be a good fit. The recruiter called him immediately and I think they're going to set up an interview! It would just be wonderful if we both found good jobs... and at the same company!? We'll be doing vastly different things, but at least we could be green and carpool. :)

Not much else to report from here... I think I'm missing Turkey more than Okan is, or at least that what he tells me! I'm happy to be working but I find myself just planning our next trip back, not sure when, but perhaps XMAS. I'd love to go in the summer, but after melting for 3 months in Marmaris last summer, I don't know if I can do that again!

Anyway, hope you're all well and having a nice week. Kendine iyi bak!

-cami

Ohhhh cami :(

Because I am not always here on "Just Turkish" as much as I would like I usually have to go back a couple of pages to catch up on all the latest on everyone here, so sorry to have missed your post!

That would be wonderful for your hubby to get a job with the same company as you! You can both do lunch together, carpool together and so on and on!

I wish him all the Best of Luck in his future career! :star:

I know exactly what you mean about missing Turkey more then our spouses do. I sometimes find myself planning to go back there again for my next vacation, but something usually gets in the way of my plans, so for now I can only hope & dream about it!

Much much {{hugs}} to you also and GOD Bless! (F)

Hi Everyone,

I just got off the phone with Yilmaz and he has received his visa to come to the U.S.!!!!

Finally, this leg of the journey is over. I know we have more ahead, but at least he will be here!!

I hope Erika and Hamit have wonderful news to post too!!!

Thanks for all your continued support!!! It really means a lot!! :)

OMG Wendy this is the best news yet!!! :star:

I am now so happy for you and Yilmaz to finally be finished with this AP nonsense!!!

So when will Yilmaz come back to the USA??? At least this time when the AOS process comes up, you will both be together when you start the filing procedure! :reading:

Much love to you both! (F)

Mina, thank you so much!! It is always so good to see you post. You are always so upbeat and uplifting for everyone and I, as I am sure the other too, really appreciate you!!!

We are still working out the details for Yilmaz coming to the U.S. We have changed (or I should say I have changed) the POE several times. First JFK and then I thought Phila. would be better because it is closer to me. Now it is back to JFK. I am hoping to drive up on a Friday afternoon, meet him at the airport, check into a hotel by the airport and then drive back the next day. I just don't want to do all that driving in one day. It is a long trip for me. Close to 3 hours one way. I used to have to drive into Manhattan when my sister was modeling for Wilimina models and I dreaded the drive. But I have never driven to JFK and I am a little aprehensive. But, I know I can do it!!!

Thanks again for you well wishes and support!! Love you!!!

~Wendy

Awww Wendy, you're making me blush!

I love all you guys too!

As for being so upbeat and uplifting, I wish I can say that I am always this way and I try to be even if things in life don't always seem to be going my way. Still, I always try to stay hopeful and happy and find humor in everything I do.

I do have some news to share with you all later, but for now I just want to wait a bit more and to wait until Sibel's husband gets his AP & visa approvals before I can say anything yet. All I can say for now is that it is both some good news & some bad news.

Well GOD Bless everyone and Love to all (F)

I am so happy to see my hubby every day..and I pray for all who is still apart from their loved ones.. That is wonderful we get great news from our friends here.. I hope to get more wonderful news very soon.. especially Sibel..things are harder for her..but I know Muhammet will be here in the summer and we'll get together Sibel.. please stay positive..You'll spend the rest of your life together..

Mina we all should get together one day..in the summer..we should organize our meeting somewhere that is close to everyone.. I would like to meet you all..

btw Mina when did your aos approved? I've filled out the papers for K-3 AOS.. I will send them out next week.. I have a few questions just to make sure if i did everything correct.. you can e-mail me to stay in touch from now on; filizwright@yahoo.com also we can exchange the number..

Hello all,

Finally I am having some time to write you. Erika yes I really lost myself in my dream i think lol

We live in Eastgreenbush, NY where close to Albany.. This is a nice and quiet are and luckly it is getting warmer here..usually it is very very cold.. I hate cold weather but I can worry about it next winter :) My husband and I traveled with Turkish Airlines on March 5th.. It was a very good and fun flight because of him :) the passport check point was very busy, mu hubby made it through in a few min..mine took longer..It was very easy..the officer only asked which visa i had..i said K-3..he asked the yellow envelope that the embassy had sent me with my visa..and attached the I-94 to my passport that i filled out in the plane.. We waited 5 hours at JFK for Albany plane..got home very late on Thursday..all i remember my hubby was drugging me with the luggages..lol Friday i was like drunk! we went to see his friends on the weekend, because everybody has been waiting to meet me.. It was tiring but certainly fun! they all are very friendly.. I felt very special...

I was very busy with the house last week..Bacause my husband moved here recently there were some unpacked boxes..and of course i had to clean the house all over and washed everything in the house.. my husband`s face was puzzled when i was doing my 10th laundry on the same day lol

and I met his parents last weekend..they were just great! I felt very comfortable at the first moment we met..

now I need to apply for AOS.. some people toldm me i should hire a lawyer but I think I can do this myself! first i will research about which docs and forms i should send to the uscis.. If anynone here can help me on this i would appreciate!

Erika I wish the best of luck on your interview! Yes they told us americans can`t get in the embassy till 1 pm.. but i am sure if you insist they`ll let you in.. I am sure everything will be fine..if your fiance doesn`t have a common name i am sure there won`t be any AP.. I know you did all preperation.. but organize everything in a file because he`ll get excited during the interview when the officer asks something he can find easily.. they ask your love story because they want to see the emotion when you talk.. You are in my prayers~ insallah you`ll be back in the states together (L) also wendy.. I wish everything goes well with his interview// all my best wishes with you too..

I am giving my e-mail address please e-mail if any of you want to be in touch with me and I`ll give my phone number too... sibel you know my old e-mail but please email here from now on.. filizwright@yahoo.com I`ll talk to you soon..

I wish all best of luck who has been waiting to be reunited with their loved ones.. This is a very very hard time period, but it will be over eventually.. just a little more patience...

Herkese sevgiler (F)

Filiz

Merhaba Filiz,

Sorry I didn't get the chance to Welcome you to the USA until now, but I am glad to hear that you had made it safely across the Atlantic Ocean! :)

So you live close to Albany? I live in Westchester, NY. Yet still not close enough to Albany to stop by and say hello :(

Well, just wanted to wish you and your hubby well and much love & happiness (L) {{Hugs}} to you both!

Mina (F)

Ozzy's took 3 business days and I think that's the norm (I was seated next to a lady who worked at the embassy on my flight home after his visa interview and she told me this)...so if your interview was on Wednesday, I'd be looking for it tomorrow or so...unless it takes UPS extra long to make it out to Batman. I'd definitely be expecting it next week tho...

Glad to hear you're enjoying your stay...can't wait to hear more! :star:

Hello again everyone!

Still no visa, but İ called Ankara and they printed it on Monday-so maybe tomorrrow. Anyhow, we fly out to Ankara on the 28th staying overnight and flying into Belgium and then Chicago and then finally Tucson on the 29th!

We spent the whole day driving around Batman yesterday so İ could get a break from the billions of guests. We went to Hansankeyf, but İ didn't want to get out of the car because I stick out like a sore thumb here  İ cannot get used to the staring.....grrrrrr :help::wow::blink::unsure::no::ranting:

İ am taking pıcs for everyone and videos for you all. I have a horrid cough and am tired so it is making my beıng gracious as of late difficult, but İ am holding up allright.

Tanya they do not have Albuterol here and İ have been so desperate that İ am taking anything and everything from the eczane....including delıcious mucomyst :dead: İ need to get back to the US so İ can breathe again.....sigh

We are now sitting around waiting for me to have more energy and of course later it will be round 1001 of guests to be cheery for. İ feel like a b*tch, but İ am exhausted. I do love them however-İ am just spent.....trying to remember Turkish and getting mixed up with Spanish and......

OK İ am going to go-just wanted to update you all and keep my mınd off of coughing.

Erika
