I know Julia! Anyhow, the time is NEVER right and usually comes when you least expect it...yet I can tell you it is the BEST thing in the world. Tanya...when are you and Ozzy think you are going to have some babies? Wendy? Sardes? And we all know awaterlily already has a sweet lil girl and deb has a sweet boy.... (L)

I need advice.... :

How long until we get "packet 4" after sending in 3? On VJ it says like 1-3 days! This cannot be right...what were your experiences? (I am doing K-1.)

And.......can I call to make the appointment (he wants me to since it depends on my schedule)??

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks and al have a great weekend...Julia I am not having Absolut Turk but Absolut pears right now!.....stressful week :wow:

Hi Erika,

I think it was a week or so before Yilmaz got his packet 4. I know that some people didn't even receive packet four and were just issued an interview date (I think this may be rare). I am sure everything will work out great for the two of you!! I know that it can be frustrating and nerve racking!!!

As far as kids, I don't think I am going to be able to have them any more. My periods are not regular anymore, and I would hate to have complications or an unhealthy baby. But, that is okay. I will enjoy his sister's baby!

YASASINNNNNN!!!!!

I got the interview date today. It is 26-FEB-2009 YAYYYY! They emailed me today! It is a great timing for us. My husband will be in Istanbul 2 days before the interview.. now i am wishing everything goes well with the interview then i can fly home with my hubby. I am so excited!!! I just wanted share our news with you.. I hope everyone gets their good news very very soon!!!

btw I have a question. We sent them only 2007 tax returns and 2007 W2.. We didn't send them 2008, 2005, 2006 tax returns and W2 forms.. Do they need them too? I just don't want to learn this at the interview..because in that case i won't be able to fly with my husband...

Thanks and good luck to all!!!

Hey Filiz,

Glad you got an interview date to your liking! As far as I know, if your husband has the W-2 you can bring this, of course, but 2008 are not required to be filed until April 15th so if he has not, it is not a problem. So, a month to go--how exciting!

Sibel

Thank you Debra, Wendy, Sibel and Julia! I am so excited.. I can't belive this long wait will be over very soon.. Insallah if everything goes well with the interview.. I've just made my medical examination appointment at the American Hospital.. It will be February 18th.. Our interview is February 26th.. I think medical date is okay..

I just want to make sure if all our documents are fine..As you said Sibel, my husband said there is no 2008 tax returns yet.. but I'll email to the embassy next week just to make sure if any document is missing...if so my husband can bring when he comes.. I am just wishing to be at the same plane with him when he leaves Turkey..

Thank you very much for your support guys.. I wish you the very best of luck!!!

We have another snow day today - one of the advantages to the long and harsh winters in Ohio. But, sitting at home alone with my cat is starting to wear on me. I am growing weary of doing everything alone from carrying the groceries up to my third floor apartment to watching movies. I suppose it builds strength - but I've had enough independent strength building...I am ready to move onto the "we" part of my life. My biggest fear is that come May or June Onur's visa approval will still be pending. I know that there is nothing I can do about that. It's just one of those hard days - sitting at home snowed-in, left alone with my thoughts and my dreams. Sometimes it feels like "happy ending" that I have been waiting for is only a dream which I can see a flicker of, but which always seems out of reach and doesn't seem to be growing any nearer. That's the toughest thing about AP - you don't see it growing nearer...it just knocks you off of your feet one day without any warning. I keep telling myself, some idle weekday I'll check the clearance website and our number will be there and my life will be changed. I hope that day is near.

Julia thank you!

I wish you guys the best of luck! I pray every night before i fall asleep just to start my life with my husband very soon.. I also pray for the people who have been going through the same things.. This is the hardest time in your life.. but there is a light in the end of the tunnel.. may be it will take longer than you thought, but it will be certainly a happy end.. because there is so much love..this love is very strong.. nothing can keep you apart as long as your thoughts and hearts are together.. we have a turkish poet named Can Yucel.. he has a great poem which briefly says; "the furthest distance is between two minds who don't understand each other"..yes.. the real distance cannot be measured with miles..but distance can be between two minds..

En uzak mesafe ne Afrika'dır

Ne Çin, Ne Hindistan,

Ne seyyareler

Ne de yıldızlar geceleri ışıldayan…

En uzak mesafe iki kafa arasındaki mesafedir..

Birbirini anlamayan..

I hope someone helps here to translate this poem better than me.. it is hard to give the same feeling like its own language..

I am wishing everyone gets together with their loved ones very very soon.. Let's keep staying positive.. We'll give each other our great news very soon.. (L)

btw your practice in turkish is very good.. Keep going.. It seems you are very interested in learning Turkish. I loved that. My husband never forgets the turkish words that i tell him.. Of course i taught him very nice words like "askim, sevgilim, bebegim etc.." ha ha.. he calls my parents "annecim, babacim".. i love the way he speaks :) last time when he was here one of my friend taught him "sus kadin- shut up woman".. when i speak too much he says to me "sus kadin" lol

Thank you Filiz - that is a beautiful quote, and so very true. Sometimes it feels like I am farther away from people in my own family who live near by but who don't understand me than I am from Onur who lives thousands of miles away but who is my other half. I will ask Onur to translate the rest of the poem for me.

Onur taught me all of the affectionate Turkish words and phrases as well, but I also learned all of the bad ones from him and his friends! I'm not sure which I know more of  I do like to tell him "sus lan!" hehe :)

Turkce cok zor cunku cok farkli ama ogrenmek calisiyorum. Was that right? :)

That is right!!! very good.. only a minor thing here ; ogrenmeye calisiyorum..

Turkce cok zor cunku cok farkli ama ogrenmek calisiyorum. Was that right? :)

BTW I emailed to the embassy to ask if our documents complete or anything missing and if we need to provide 2008 and 2006 tax returns and W2s.. Their answer is below..

According to our records, you need to provide the followings at the time of the interview:

-Passport

-Medical report

-$131 Fortis Bank receipt

-Proof of bona fide relationship

Please note that, for some cases further documentation may be required after the interview and they can be provided by mail.

Our office does not recommend visa applicants making specific plans, as visa processing may take extended amount of time

They say I shouldn't make any plan before, but i feel that i will be returning home with my husband :) fingers crossed..

Have a great to all!!! (L)
