We saw "There Will Be Blood" today... really... really... good film - Paul Thomas Anderson is an amazing director, and Daniel Day Lewis' performance really is (one of) if not his best.

His character is crazier than the one he played in Gangs of New York, and that's saying a lot.

If you like Amores Perros and Y tu mama tambien, you'll love Bad Education and Los Pecados de Padre Amaro. Both star Gael Garcia Bernal.Bad Education is directed by Alomodovar.I LOVE HIS MOVIES !

I have seen both of those. Padre Amaro is one of the few movies that I actually own (and watch) on DVD. I love it!! Gael is fantastic!

Como Agua Para Chocolate was a good one, too!!!

Gael is awesome. Some of the telenovela people can actually act, that is very impressive.

Has anyone seen the movie Juno?

We saw that one a few weeks ago. It wasn't bad. A nice, quirky little story with some great characters. My only complaints were dialogue that bordered on irritating and a horrible soundtrack. Other than that, it was well worth watching.

We've recently seen....

The Hunting Party - fantastic movie.

Into the Wild - Not too horrible. It was very well shot. How much someone enjoys this movie is going to be dependent on how much sympathy they have for the main character.

Real love stories never have endings...

Someone who agrees with me - I thought the dialogue was terrible! It was like the worst episode of Dawson's Creek ever - best original screenplay, my a$$

I totally had the same complaints! I wanted to punch the soundtrack for its cutsiness about 85 times. Also sometimes the dialog WAS really irritating. I still liked it though.

It was a cute and sweet movie and the dialogue was totally redeemed by the acting, especially Ellen Page. But, the dialogue was so irritating that I wanted to throw popcorn at the movie screen. There were also a lot of hipster references that really annoyed me too.
