It is. But you need to have either read the book and/or consumed a fair sized quantity of magic mushrooms to make sense of what the hell is going on.

Explains why all of the films based on PKD's stories are heavily adapted from the source material. This is the most faithful adaptation of any of his books - and it shows...

Blade Runner is a very different beast from the original novel. Basically the whole noir angle was added for the movie - and the characterisation of Deckard makes him a vain bureaucrat rather than a hard-boiled detective. There's also some stuff in the novel about consumerism - that Deckard's whole motivation for doing his job is so that he can make enough money to buy an electric goat.

#######'s ideas were better than his writing - IMO.

Its like all of the characters are on drugs all the time

Still its worth it for that suicide scene - where that guy goes through explaining how he went out and bought an expensive bottle of wine to drink and a copy of one of Ayn Rands books, so when people found him dead they would think he was more intelligent than he actually was.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
