Loved 'Kung Fu Panda' even though I only went for the kids :)

Just rented some oldies: Point of No Return and The Professional. Apparently I'm in a hired-killer sort of mood.

Little trivia... Point of No Return is a remake of Luc Besson's earlier film, Nikita, which also features Jean Reno playing a similar character to his "Professional" character.

Anyone seen Sublime? I started watching it last night and turned it off after 20 minutes when I realised I didn't know ####### was going on  But I wasn't sure whether it was because I was already on my 5th glass of wine or not.....anyway, not sure whether to try it again while more sober

Watched Flawless also and Jumper....enjoyed them both

I don't know if anyone has recommended this yet, but The Orphanage (el Orfanato) is an absolutely amazing film. Produced by Guillermo Del Toro (of Pan's Labyrinth fame) it is one of the best ghost stories I've seen in a long, long time.

Well worth a watch.

I have that one on my Netflix Instant Viewing Queue... trying to work up the nerve to see it :lol:

You definitely should watch it. I'd have to say I didn't find it scary, but it was very creepy... Especially the

"one two three, knock on the wood"

bit.

the happening.... i liked the movie when i first saw it... i'm a sucker for sci-fi/environmental genres... but the second time i watched the movie, i started seeing the flaws and realized that it's a tad slow... maybe too slow for other people

I saw The Happening last night and I found it to be maybe the creepiest movie I've ever seen. I had nightmares all night.

I read the reviews and everyone pretty much agrees that it sucked.

I don't know why it freaked me out so much.

so I m not the only one who gets nightmares ...lol the night after I saw "the ring" I kept picturing that girl coming at me... *shudders* I had to sleep with the lights on for a week

I had some really terrible ones after watching "The People Under the Stairs", where all of the movie's characters were replaced with my friends and family.

Not sure why I love watching scary movies so much.

As I mentioned yesterday, hubby and I did watch SATC.

Since I loved the series and the dialogue, I was entertained. It could have been better but it was good enough. There were many scenes I liked. And some acts were unnecessary and boring. I wished I had amazingly accessible gal pals, lucky Carrie!

And the best thing was my husband who sleeps through most movies, was curious (he should be, after seeing several humping scenes-lol I'm talking about Samantha's puppy). It fact, the movie may not be a painful experience (sitting for 148 minutes wishing he's home watching a baseball game) for men.

And though Mr. Big let Carrie down BIG time in this movie, I was happy she was not vying for Big's attention for a rival. No one is standing in the way of each woman's (and Big's) happiness except themselves. I kind of liked that. :D

Thing is it's all in your head; there aren't actually any visual scary bits. I will add that it isn't just a ghost story, it's about a woman's search for her son. It's scary, heartbreaking and happy. Weird combination, I know, but I can't recommend it enough. :)

yeah sounds kind of like "the ring".. you don't really see much throughout the movie but the whole movie just gives out creepy vibes...

i will have to watch it early in the day so my mind has all day to process it ...lol

The Orphanage was good but...I'm a chicken. Even knowing how it ends now I still think you'd find me cowering behind my seat if I were to watch it again.

Prince Caspian is finally out here. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was so much better than The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. It was also a relief to watch a battle sequence filmed without copious use of shaky-cam. The only part I disliked was the little added romance. It felt forced and awkward.

We went to see Wanted earlier.

It was...........average for me. The fun part was the scene at Wesley's office. It's like a valid escape for unhappy office drones (like me) to go on a killing spree to retaliate being put down, or for Wesley being life's failure.

I started to feel awe the first 20 minutes and then I drifted to a cloud of vagueness. I must have missed the crucial part but it got me wondering to "####### is the point of the fraternity/" to "where does the money come from?" to "OMG! Angie must have skipped lunch and dinner again". By the time the movie ended, I was down to "I can't wait to go to this yard sale."

It was no surprise to see my husband get bored. *yawns*

It was almost impossible for me to care for this movie. Almost.
