We watched 10,000 B.C. - well, I saw about th first 30 minutes before I fell asleep - what a bunch of rubbish! The previews looked good to me because of the FX, but this is a great example of how FX cannot carry a film.

yeah hubby wanted to see it a few weeks ago but the majority of the reviews I saw said it wasn't good...

Yeah, we were gonna go see it in the theatre until we realized that the theatre wouldn't accept our free passes on an opening weekend, but I'm glad we didn't waste our time!

mmm so you didn't see it in the theater?? ;) ...lol

We rarely go to theatres to see movies. We did however go to see 10,000 BC. On the whole, the movie wasn't that good, but I didn't think I wasted my time. They could have done tons more in terms of FX. Was nice to get out and see a movie.

This weekend, we had free HBO on our cable channel, so we saw...

Inventing the Abbots - really enjoyed

Mystic River - preferred the book although Sean Penn is AMAZING

The Departed - way too violent for me! ugh...lots of stars...VERY confusing

The Last King of Scotland - excellent, but again...violent

Blood Diamond - wonderful story

Nanny McPhee - very cute, thoughtful, good lessons learned

Disturbia - edge of your seat!

Wow...my eyes were hurting after the weekend!

We saw "Deja Vu" this past weekend and it was the biggest piece of ####### I've seen since the last "Die Hard" movie. What a mess!

I watched three movies today.

27 dresses - After being a bridesmaid 27 times, a Jane wrestles with the idea of standing by her sister's side as her sister marries the man she's secretly in love with.

- Light hearted romantic comedy. It was fun to watch, but it really is just the average American romantic comedy. No surprises. Nice for a Sunday afternoon though.

Idiocracy - Average American Joe Bauers is selected by the Pentagon to be the guinea pig for a top-secret hibernation program. Forgotten, he awakes 500 years in the future. He discovers a society so incredibly dumbed-down that he's easily the most intelligent person alive.

- Oh boy, society IS dumb. They are so dumb, it physically hurts. The idea itself is good, but the movie dragged and the jokes were boring, so I only watched half of it and the had to turn it off

Into the wild - After graduating from University, student Christopher abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.

- Pretty long, 2 hrs. 28 minutes; based on a true story, beautiful landscapes, kind of melancholic and sad. Great soundtrack by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder. Good film.
