Oh #######! They pulled one on me  I did not know that! hahahahaha

The original is a Hong Kong movie called Infernal Affairs.

They actually did a great job on the remake. It was very similar in places, but different enough that it wasn't quite like watching the same movie.

Infernal Affairs is much better - the Departed kind of screwed up that scene on the rooftop. Plus, the Jack Nicholson equivalent is a lot more charismatic, less psycho. The Leo equivlaent's (tony leung) loyalty to him makes a lot more sense because of it.

I agree with all you've said. I did like the original a lot more, but I enjoyed the remake too. It was just different enough to make it watchable. Although from the start, I was expecting it to be an exact remake.

I read somewhere that they are probably going to do a prequel and sequel to The departed. I wonder if they'll stick with the plots from Infernal Affairs' Sequel and Prequel.

Yeah- I enjoyed the Departed, I just loved Infernal Affairs (and love Tony Leung in everything he's in)

We've got Lust, Caution here. We haven't watched it yet, but apparently the NC 17 version is kinda graphic...

spoiler for No Country for old Men.... don't read if you haven't seen the movie.... you have been warned :P

ed thom and anton are the same person, sheriff was hunting himself the entire movie, he has 2 personalities....

watch the movie again, with this theory in mind, and you may be able to catch everything then

like when he pulled the car over at the beginning, the guy didn't even think about not getting out of the car to an officer out of uniform and then the creepy guy going back to crime scenes with no problems

the fact the ed thom and anton do not meet the entire film

the sheriff's rant about the way they kill cows in the diner with llewellen's wife

it's not making sense.

if they were the same person, then he'd be his older version, not a split personality. it's notmaking sense.

:o

Omg. I thought it was just a creepy movie, I didn't know it had like a big weird elusive point to it. I have to go rewatch it now!

It's not the first time the Coen Brothers have done something people can't quite figure out. Barton Fink was like...#######.

I saw Horton Hears a Who Saturday :D It was pretty cute but I felt like it could have been more creative or something, with the great reviews it's been getting. But I drove through like...a really bad storm to get there (didn't mean to do that) so the theater was pretty abandoned and I had to watch it by myself, not one of the best movies for that. Maybe would have enjoyed it more had there been lots of kids or something but still pretty cool :P

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

why would he have to be the older version?? I am not saying that the evil side is when he was younger but that is how he sees the evil side of himself...
