the ball is rolling now...I received the case number today by way of the automated phone system at nvc. Now come more questions. I am a bit nervous about having my husband send the original documents to the nvc (the is what the website intructions request) and I am wondering if anyone knows for sure if that is what they want (originals or certified copies only) or would they accept embassy notarized copies? there is time for him to go to the embassy and get notarized copies if they will accept them in leu of originals (this way if anything happens in the mail or if vfs should fall short on their end he will still have originals to take to the interview).

I sent email a week ago and havent received an answer yet and getting through to an operator seems an all day job if not 2 days. I know that we need to do something soon so we are not caught aff guard when the time comes to send it all in.

I really appreciate all the help I have received so far here on VJ and thank you all in advance for any answers you can give me on this.

I managed to get through to NVC and talk to an operator and you are in fact correct about the original's, but the one thing that concerned me was having to also submit originals to the VFS office before and my husband not having any documents to take to the embassy (i always worry about others losing our documents).

As of January 1st all of India will be getting documents from the NVC and no longer will be using the VFS office as a courier...this is good news
