Mailed the I-130 packet on December 24 2007 as well.

I'm leaving for Tokyo next week. I figure it will get here while I'm away.

You got your papers so fast from the vermont service center I was wandering did you use a lawyer? because i sent my I-130 off in dec of O7 and I recieved NO1 on Feb. 21 of 08 and nothing more.

I was VSC filer who was transferred to CSC.

FYI, case updates:

25 Aug NOA2

28 Aug NVC case assigned

Just waiting for NVC operator hours to open to get IIN to pay 1st bill :) Finally things are moving :dance:

Quick question....

Is it OK to buy a round trip ticket and only use half of it?

It seems like it would be fine... but who knows with these goofy airlines.

Of course when your significant other comes you will only need to buy a one way ticket, but I wonder if they will ask her questions at the airport? For example y do you have a round trip ticket if you are planning to stay. The immigration people at the airport can be rough to. Any info would be appreciated. ;-)

The price difference is significant. One way is something like $2,300 and round trip is around $1,350. #######... lol Has anyone ever done this before?

Jawswinger,

I called and asked NWA about it and the person I talked to said just buy the round trip ticket, fly to the US, and then cancel the return. The only thing they warned about was that we wouldn't get any miles as they are based on using the entire round trip ticket. I wouldn't think that there would be any issues at POE as she could just explain that it was much cheaper, and it is in no way illegal. This is the way Masako and I will be doing it. Though we did think briefly about pushing the return trip out to April when we will go back to visit her family. We couldn't though as they will only let you return three months later, though I have heard there are ways around this. We are lucky that the immigration and customs people at Minneapolis are pretty nice and easy going. I hope this helps. :)

I think we are going to purchase a round trip as well. I would much rather use that $1000 dollars for something else. :-)

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. I wanted to pop in and post an update. Emma had her interview in Sydney on the 2nd of September and was approved. I am flying down on the 13th and then we will be returning on the 23rd. 3 days until I see her again after 10 months. Yeah, Im in a good mood :devil:
