Hi All. :)

I mailed our I-130 petition to the Chicago lock box on December 24th, and it was received on the 26th.

I have been told everything from two weeks to 90 days for the NOA-1 so I would like to keep track and see where it actually hits.

If you filed in December of 2007 please post so that we can track it.

Thanks,

- Justin and Masako

You should check other people's timelines going for the same type of visa and location the forms were sent out to, because I think your wait could be more than 90 days.

We filed in October and still no NOA1. Folks who filed in August/September for IR/CR visa are just starting to get their NOA1. USCIS Chicago lockbox claims it issued NOA1 to everybody who filed before 10/10/07, but nobody so far among October filers got theirs. So hang on their December filers.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong, but I believe this specific December thread is for the pure I-130 not tainted with the I-129F...forgive my sense of humor...and/or my enlightenment :) Over 2/3 of the conversation in the thread you mention deals with the I-129F. Sorry, that's not my cup of tea. Although I do read that thread, I was hoping a CR-1/IR-1 December thread would be started. It's interesting to me also that the very first response in this new thread was not a December 07 filer but a Feb 05 filer...I'll forgive your humor...and/or enlightenment...hahahaha. In other words, I hope those of you who are not December 07 filers are deceived into thinking that we cannot read the rest of the threads and understand just where everyone else is in the process....oops...too much venting on the VJ'ers and not USCIS....Forgive me for my stupidity. We I-130 December filers just want our own little place in VJ.com to call our own. :)

Sorry, bad day at work. I don't mean show any lack of appreciation for your comments....Diana and Evgeniya. I realize your comments were trying to clear up a little unknown confusion expressed by J&M...four months + is definitely longer than 90 days. Your advice was right on!!! Even as things start to move within the lockbox (debatable, especially as susieK loves to point out) indicating that the four month wait is a thing of the past, still, it's all a guessing game and we can only determine our future based on past performance....which currently is four months +.

Nevertheless, I believe the intent of this thread was not to accurately predict the future arrival of such elusive NOA1's but to create a place where those who are in the same time frame can meet, observe and share and then ultimately provide a reference as we start to get our own receipt notices. Obviously, December filers will spend more time following the Sept/Oct/Nov threads to base our judgment, predictions, and hopes on.

Anyway...I think you get my point.....

James

We mailed our I-130 on 17th.

We are still waiting for the check to be cashed... :-( I think its going to be awhile.

My check hasn't been cashed yet either but from what I have seen on the forum so far that is no surprise. I would be extremely surprised to see it before the end of February.

@ j.debonis

Your right, I started this thread for December 2007 I-130 filers (stand alone I-130 petitions) and it wasn't to predict the future but so that we could track when people start getting there NOA-1s.

I was worried at first that I wouldn't have any other responses to this thread but I am glad to see it finally sprang to life! :)

I hope everyone's New Year is going well! :)

Leedah, I didn't meant to piss you off. I was in a bad mood and it kind of just came out here in the thread...my apologies. Of course you did not nor will you ever invade this or any other thread. I'm sorry if that is the way you understood it. I understand your intent was to help. Thank you so much. Without the help of other's in this place I would be so lost. Your gracious attitude and desire to help was noticed and your helpful spirit is deeply appreciated since so much of the success of vj.com depends on the willingness of others to help, share, and guide...to pass on the knowledge they have learned from previous more senior members as well as their own experiences. Again, thank you. I feel the need to make this public apology and I do hope you accept.

Peace

You weren't invading this thread, it just tracks a different set of data then yours. Tracking the I-129F is important as well, but it doesn't really help those who want to track stand alone I-130 petitions. It is a different process and deserves its own thread. Sorry if I made you feel that you weren't welcome, that wasn't my intention at all. :)
